Found out more about DD's class

As some of you may have heard me post (seen me post?) DD has two teachers this year and her one teacher is the half-time special ed teacher. So all the special ed kids (about 12) are in my DD's class. I was really curious how this was going to work out. Seems she will be doing things similar to middle school which is next year for us.

So today I went into the school for some other stuff and talked to one of the receptionists and she filled me in. (The joy of a small school is everyone knows everything LOL)

Sounds like that will be a great prep for her for next year!

Well, congrats on the improvements with the school. I think it's nice to see money going towards education and I'm sure that by the time school starts yours will look great!

Here French starts in Jr. Kindergarten. they get 20 min. a day then and its up to about 45 min. a day now. I think in highschool it becomes optional. I would like to have her in French immersion but she's so anti-French (even though she's good at it) and she's not interested in a career in government so I don't push it. She is learning some.

Tam,

I haven't been on much recently and I must have missed previous postings about this. I am curious, if you don't mind my asking, does your DD have special needs? I only ask because we have 4 kids and although 1 has special needs, I have mixed views since we've been in this position with the others at one time or another. I do think though that it's great practice for middle school changing rooms. Kids love doing this as well and to have more then one teacher can be such an asset. Btw, my oldest DD is entering her 4th year French honors (high school) and has expressed a desire to look at Canadian Univ. And to think, this is the same girl I argued with for an entire summer years ago over her wanting to take French, lol.
