IKYWM I was shocked when I heard....if anything I'd thought he'd be killed by a snake (ain't she a beaut!). My oldest esp remembers the Croc week long specials on Discovery, she loved them. RIP Steve
I wasn't surprised that he died young. He always pushed it. I'm sure he's happy he went out that way rather than a plane crash or some disease. To be doing what he loved. How sad for his wife and kids to lose him so young. I think while some people thought he was over the top and not a good role model, he really opened up a whole world to people who were clueless about nature and animals. Good thoughts to his family after such a freak accident.
I agree that I too felt sad at the news of his passing. I will always admire that he rescued crocs and helped teach people about reptiles and creatures that we don't really think about. I didn't agree with how he exposed his children to the dangers of his job though. I'm just glad that nothing happened to either of his girls. I feel very sorry for his family and wish them the best in their difficult time.
