Well, it started off a bit rough. Got everything ready in the morning, leave in good time, zip over the bridge, things are going well, I have 20 min. then boom. Traffic comes to a standstill. It took me about 20 min. to go 2 miles. I finally get off that road and was only about 7 min. late. I have to find the alternative route tomorrow but my map seems to be missing the top half. As it turns out there was a group meeting so I wasn't late at all. They even gave us free muffins. The last free thing they'll give us. So we had the pep talk, then the sent us off to our classes.

I am in a class with 4 new recruits (ALL lawyers) and 3 other old employees like me. One secretary, one big boss in adminstration (if hey don't get their French levels up they can be fired), one non-rotational trade person and me. We have two teachers, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The morning teacher is a guy who seems pretty funny and go with the flow. So we got our handouts and then the new people had to go and see their personnel officers at 10:30, so since about 10:00 until 1:30 I have nothing to do. LOL Everyday we get "self study" from 11:30 - 12:30 then lunch until 1:30. I wish we could take 1/2 hour lunch (you can eat while self-studying) and then could leave at 4:00. Right now we're done at 4:30 so we'll see how it goes.

I saw a couple of old colleagues here so that was nice to catch up. They expect us to do 4-5 weeks of review, then 3 weeks of intensive study for our written test then after that you start something called the caroussel which is 3 months of intensive one-on-one interviews and feedback for your oral test. Some people finish in 3 months, others in 6. So we'll see. They say it is very gruelling just one on one everyday.

So I'm like the new kid in school. Except they provide us with supplies. LOL We got a new binder, paper, pens, highlighters. I'll have to buy myself a pencil case. :-) I bought my little plastic container with my mug, tea bags, hair brush, mirror, ADVIL LOL, feminine protection, you know, all that crap you keep in your desk drawer as we don't have drawers. So I think I'm set. I'll likely buy a kettle for the class so I don't have to run to the cafeteria in the basement for hot water since I'm on the 4th floor.

So this afternoon I meet the

Things went well and I have homework which I'm sure will amuse Kristen to no end. LOL We are pretty much all in agreement that we will likely ask that our lunch be cut to 30 min. Right now we have one hour for free study, then one hour lunch. It is too long and you end up surfing the net or just killing time. If you're starving you can eat your lunch while studying but then we'd be done at 4:00. Since I think all of us would rather be done early we are going to go for that. There are a couple of women in the class who speak VERY quietly and I just want to tell them to "speak up already". LOL But otherwise the class seems pretty good. It is a very small world. Turns out one of the students went to school with the cousin of one student, and another's father lives on the same lake as the other girl's grandparents. LOL None of them had met before today so it gets to be a very small world.

Coming home the traffic was much better but I have to scout my route for tomorrow so I'm not late and stressed.
