I Was Wednesday Wondering....

Does your tween/teen have PE everyday?
Do they have to change or do they just wear their street clothes?
IF they change, what do they have to change into?

Quinn (13 next month) has PE every other day. He has a gym uniform that he has to change into that consist of black shorts w/a patch on one leg that has a number on it & school system logo. The shirt is a heather gray, again with number & logo. The school sells uniforms too that are the schools colors (green & silver). They are around $20. Quinn is like me, thrifty. He had rather get the freebie & put the $20 towards something else.

My tween (10.5) is only in 5th grade, so NO he is not required to dress out. They do PE every other day and calistenics(sp)- which is stretching,

Both girls ages 12 & 10 have PE three times a week. The other two days they have something called QDPA which stands for quality daily physical activity. PE is 49 minutes and QPDA is 20 minutes.
Once they start grade seven they must have a school issued uniform which is 23 dollars. We bought one for daughter in fifth grade just so she knows what to grab for school each day.

Middle school - 8th grade, age 13

No, we do not even have PE this year! For the first time ever, they're made PE an elective because we've gone to block sked and there isn't enough time to fit it in. This is what her choice was: PE OR Foreign language (obtaining HS credit for this btw) - she's taking French instead of gym ... against her better judgement btw.

On another note - my oldest DD (HS, 10th gr) has mandatory PE every other day and must change into a gym uniform. And the one in elementary (4th gr) has PE once per week, they wear regular clothing, but have never done physical exercise like running etc. They stay indoors only and juggle yet call it PE.

IF they change, what do they have to change into? They have to wear grey shorts and a grey t-shirt with the schools logo on it.

We homeschool but we try to get in some physical activity every day. At this time of year we do a lot of hiking and playgrounds. In the winter we will still hike as much as we can as well as toboganning . We have a mini trampoline for days when it is too cold or snowy to get out.

She is 11 in Grade 6. Thanks to the new schedule we've created, she now has gym every day for 40 min. Her new teacher would like them to change but they only have one change room (the boys is used for storage). But traditionally they just wear street clothes.
