A few weeks ago I was sharing with this board that I often sugger from insomia. I have a Rx for Ambilien CR, but I do not want to take it every single night. Plus, I often wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning. You have to be able to dedicate 8 hours of sleep. Sleeping until 10 or 11am is out of the question for me.
Anyway...Nancy said that she takes an herb called 'motherwort'. She wrote about all the benefits of it. Laura ordered it to try for herself. I talked to a friend who kind of knows a lot about herbs & stuff. She said that she had heard great things about it & suggested that I ordered it from where she gets her stuff. I compared prices & her supplier was cheaper.
So, I ordered it.
The package came in the mail yesterday. It was in a square box about 4x4 inches. I opened it & freaked out! It looks like pot!!! It is green dried out leaves, packed into 4 plastic bags. I swear it looks exactly like pot! I don't know if I should smoke it or what!!!
Quinn & I went over to our friends house & I showed it to them. When I opened the box, he said "Alright! Dude! I going to the store to get some papers" LOL!!! We laughed & laughed over it. I guess I'll contact the seller & ask if I'm suppose to brew it or what. Maybe I'm suppose to bake it in brownies!

Oh, I thought you got it in pill form. LOL Too funny it came in baggies. Are you "sure" its motherwort? Wouldn't want to find you've been arrested for illegal substances.

Don't take my word (or the internet) on it, but for grins I did a search and found this:

You can cut this plant and use the stem, leaves, or flowers in homemade herbal tea—use 2 teaspoons of dried motherwort to 1 cup of hot water for a homemade tea. You can drink up to 2 cups daily. Motherwort is also available at health food stores and some pharmacies in extracts, teas, capsules, and tablets. Just be sure to follow the dosage instructions on the package—too much motherwort can cause diarrhea and upset stomach.

I also looked at the place I recommended and apparently they are taking orders again, so if you need a tincture, I can recommend a place!

Thanks for the giggles! That was amusing. I googled motherwort and found it is good for other symptoms too.

There is a small picture of the plant. This site says it is good for women's health. It is certainly something to look into.

LOL! Those are some funny little smiley things. Nancy provided me with some instructions. Here I was looking forward to baking them in brownies! ;)
No...it's not pot. It smells sort of like oregeno or some other spice/herb blend.

Thanks Nancy. I'll try brewing some. I'll give it a go before I go to bed tonight. I'll let you know what it taste like.
