to go to high school football games? DS (6th grade) went w/ a friend tonight and it is costing him $5 to get in. That just seems high to me. Maybe that's the norm nowadays. We don't go to the games because I don't know any of the kiddos since DS is my oldest child. I guess we could go to show support for the school, but personally I don't want to spend $20 for the family to go to the ballgame.

Like I said, that may be the norm, or even cheap for other parts of the country (I live in Oklahoma). I do find it interesting though, that when the high school orchestra or band does their spring concert, it's free!!

Seems cheap to me, that's what I paid when I was in high school and that was 15 years ago...yikes it's weird seeing that! LOL! I remember it was 5 to get in and then we would spend endless amounts of hard earned cash on refreshments. That was in VA.

Back in the "old days" (I graduated high school in '83) it was $1 to get in the games!! DS's ticket tonight was pre-purchased. I believe the tickets are $7 at the gate.

I guess $5 is not out of line. Just took me by surprise. Thanks for your responses.

We haven't gone to any football games but our school offered athletic passes at the beginning of the school year for $50 per person or a max of $200 per family for the school year. I was totally shocked that someone would attend that many sporting events, but now that I have two kids in sports...I can see why! Cross Country Track luckily doesn't charge to attend but they do charge $2 per adult for each of my daughter's volleyball games, $1 per student. (If ya get there early you can get in before they set the money collecting table up though! HAHA!)

I pay $4 to go to my son's football game. I think that's a rip seeing as how I pay for him to play and he's 10!!
