Quinn went on his field trip yesterday. He had a really good time. When I picked him up from school, he was so dirty & sweaty. That means he had a great time. LOL!
Let me tell you gals what happened at lunch.
This guy in his class brought a Lunchable to eat. Quinn said it was hardly any food to begin with. After the boy ate, he was still hungry. (Keep in mind, these are 7th graders. Quinn is eating more now than ever.) Anyway, I always pack a few extra things in Quinn lunch box just in case someone is still hungry or forgot their lunch. (I use to work with an childcare program. I know from experience that this happens a lot.) Quinn was able to give him a pack of peanut butter Nabs, share his carrots & grapes with him. Another kid had some cookies he shared with him. Another had a banana.
I've never bought Quinn a Lunchable. (He use to ask for them, but I read the ingredients & sodium content. The long expiration was the 1st thing that freaked me out.)
I have to ask, generally is it suppose to be enough food for a kid? I know that when the childcare program I worked with would do an out of school day outing, some of the kids would bring them. So often they would still be hungry. (We always took extra food.) Also, sometimes they would throw some of the food away.
When I planned daycamp for the church, the kids were required to bring lunch everyday. I always put on the info sheet that a lunch would need to be sent & no Lunchables, please. (Parents would still send them.)
I might could understand an elementary kid having one, but not a middle schooler. Maybe the parent was driving the boy to school when he piped up & say "Uh! Oh! I was suppose to bring lunch today because we are going on a field trip." I would have bought a ready made sandwich from the deli, a piece of fruit, a small bag of chips & a pack of cookies or candy bar.

we pack our lunch everyday. Its difficult to find things for kids to eat. Those lunchables you have to be very careful about the expiration date.
My dd hates them so I do not buy them at all either.
I have to add about the field trip.... we have one comming up. I signed up to help out but I doubt they are going to call me for that. Which really upsets me. I would like to go to help out. But since I work and I am not at the school all day like some moms then I will not be picked to go. Becides I have another factor standing in my way. So I know for sure they will not be calling me. That is just wrong though.
Glad Quinn had a nice time on the field trip.
Hannah use to just bug people about eating lunchables. She'd tell her friends my mom and dad say that their in 0 nutritional value in a lunchable. I still see those things at the school lunches.
