SNOW DAY here too! Last night went to bed to sleet banging on the windows. This was going on until 2:00am and then it started snowing! It still looks like a blizzard out there. It's supposed to stop in a little bit, but I think we are snowed in for awhile.

(we live in Central Illinois)

Laura---did your electricity go off? My DH's did in his apartment. And yes, he went into work today too! Do ya think they're the only ones! LOL!

Yeah for you! Here in Denver for the past two years I've been here...I've taken my kids to school on black ice covered roads, snow, ice, ugh...and they've never even had a delayed opening! I'm from the South where anything white caused the world to shut down for days! :)

Us too!!!!!! We've already shoveled and made muffins. We're going to address the Christmas cards, go sledding, and bake cookies later!! I LOVE snow days. Evan is 10 and this is his very first. They never cancel school here (just north of Chicago).

I am so glad I decided to stay home. It is horrible out there. It is a driving rain which is freezing on contact. My sidewalk now has a quarter inch or more of ice on it and you can see the trees are starting to get a coating of ice. Definitely no playing outside today. It wasn't that bad this morning hence my ex trying to come into the city and me considering going to work. But I would be driving home in this weather right now and I'd be freaking out. So glad I stayed home. Got my kitchen all tidied, fuzzy food thrown out of the fridge, mopped the floor, watched some food TV with Kristen. Might drag up some Christmas decorations yet tonight and get started. This is supposed to pass overnight so hope tomorrow is better. I only hope we don't have too much ice on the power lines and lose power. Thought I better make sure I had some water set aside just incase. Heat wise we'd be in trouble as I only have enough wood for 6 hours or so in the fireplace. Guess we'd be bundling up for awhile. But I'll think positively.
