Good, Bad & Ugly Weekend

Well let's see, where do I start. We headed down to Houston for Jordyn's competition Friday night. Didn't get to the hotel til 10:45ish, but luckily we got to sleep in til 9:30. Had breakfast, got ready and went to the meet. Jordyn did amazingly well. I posted scores in the photo shoot thread along with results, but she ended up scoring the highest all around score of her teammates. A big accomplishment since she had the farther to go progress wise at this new gym.

We went out to a restaurant after the meet as a team. While we were in the restuarant either a door was left unlocked or whatever, but 3 bags were stolen out of our car. Jordyn's school bag, her competition bag, and my tote that I carry back and forth to work (i.e., my life). I didn't realize it was more than her school bag til we got home at 11:00 Saturday night. I thought the competition bag was in the trunk and my bag is usually left home. I had talked to a cop at the restaurant and he said the area had been having problems at lunches and stuff with people looking for laptops and money. The funny thing is, my digital camera and Jordyn's cell phone were sitting on the front passenger seat in plain view and none of that was taken.

Sunday afternoon I get a call from a guy on my cell phone. Apparently his wife and him were staying at a hotel a few exits down from the restaurant and that morning they found all of our bags and some other people's bags in the back of her pick up truck. Apparently that's where they got dumped when whoever took them realized there was nothing valuable in any of them. So I talked to the wife yesterday and I have to drive down to Houston this weekend to pick up our bags. Ugh, 3 hours each way, but what can I do.

Yesterday, went to my ultrasound, Jordyn went with me. She has woke up with a cough and congestion Sunday. By the end of my ultrasound she was running a fever and I assume her allergies were just out of control. I spent forever in Walmart trying to figure out what to give her for every one of her symptoms, fever, cough, sore throat, congestion, headache. Ugh! She was just sick 2 weeks ago with the same thing. She stayed home, I wrote notes to all of her teachers explaining that her school bag was taken so hopefully they will let her make up anything that was in it and hold on til we get it back with what was in it, like her gym clothes (school specific), gym shoes, library book, agenda, and all her notes from 3 classes. She is back at school today, no fever, but still congested. I'm beginning to hate Texas weather.

Last but not least, if you made it all the way through this awful post, you are congratulated and get to find out that we found out yesterday that I am having a GIRL! Jordyn is still has the "I'm an only child and you're messing it up," but the grin on her face when the tech said we were having a girl was priceless, I wish I had had a camera for that one. Right now she is trying to convince me to change the nursery bedding I picked out from a neutral theme to the girly care bears theme. :)

Wow, what an adventure. First congrats on another little girl. Must say I'm a bit partial to girls. LOL Not that I'm biased or anything. :-)

And wow about the bags. Its a pain to drive down and pick them up, but way better than having to replace everything. At least they had the sense to dump them in a truck and not in a dumpster somewhere. Sounds like quite the adventure.

Oh and congrats to Jordyn on doing so well, that is super. Will head down and look at the pics.

No names picked out yet. DH was concentrating on boy names and wouldn't even look at girl ones. I mailed him a baby name book just after he deployed with my choices for boys and girls, but I haven't heard back from him on any of his thoughts. But most likely the middle name will be Renee', long back story, but a sentimental name for me, but I don't necessarily want it as a first name since our last name starts with an R.

That stinks about the break in but at least they didn't damage the car and destroy your stuff.

Congrats to Jordan on doing so well! Way to go!

Woo Hoo to the girl! Jordan will have a baby sister and DH will get used to the idea... He has no choice LOL!

Have you talked to him yet?

Nope, last email I received from him was on Sunday about the bags. I emailed him yesterday as soon as I got home from the appointment, but no response yet. Long story, but he has cut down on his phone calls so I haven't spoken with him since Nov. 26.

Still waiting on a reply email. Depending on communication over there (and other issues of course ;) ) it could be a while.
