Hi everyone,

Do you have any recommendations for good videos or books geared to preteens teaching pilates, yoga, etc.

With Caitie being so stressed lately, and also after her comments that her older sister (age 14) needs to get more active, I was thinking about getting her some type of video or book on the subject (with a possibility of sharing it with her sister as well, but mostly geared to Caitie who is 11yo). Yoga is preferable as she has issues relaxing, but really anything would be good. Do any of your preteens do anything like this?

Thanks,
-Nikki

nikki-
my daughter and I both go to yoga classes We would not work well with a video so sorry I can not recomend one to you.
Have you thought about taking both of your kids to a class to see how they might like it? When i was thinking about it, my daughter came to a class with me and she loved it. We have gone back several times. Good luck.

I did think about it, but the only place that has it for kids is in Toronto, which is about an hour's drive away. I would be willing to drive us there IF I knew she would like it, but until then I want a video or book to get her interested and knowing the basics. I do have a yoga class at my gym, but it is for ages 16+. If I called and asked if she could come, they MAY allow it, but I would think she would feel intimidated by all the adults and again, I would want her to know the basics first and be interested.

Thanks,
Nikki

I understand. I am sure you will find a way. Have you tried your local store that has a video of basics. Try reading a book to explain how the basics work. There are ones targeted straight for kids.
