UGH-need computer help please!

H-P let me know that I had updates to download so I did that this morning. It was an updated version 7.0 of Internet Explorer. It downloaded fine and then told me to restart, which I did. Everything works fine EXCEPT my short-cut icons. They do not work if I doubleclick on them or if I right click and then click to Open. Anyone know what is going on. Is there an easy way I can go back to the IE I had instead of this version or is it now too late since I already downloaded it-ARGHHHHH!

Do you have XP? If so you can restore to the way it was before the update. If you need help let me know.
DH said to try to right click them, put open with a new program and select IE 7.0 and see if it works
Where are your shortcuts located?
Powered by CGISpy.com
I searched around and found this:
In control panel click on add/remove programs, go down to IE 7.0 and then click on "change/remove".
If I do this, will in automatically restore or will have have no internet explorer at all?
THANK YOU!
Ok now go to your start menu and hover over accessories and a new menu will appear.
Then go down to system tools and hover over it and another menu will appear,
then look for system restore (mine is the second from the bottom) and click on it,
System Restore will open and you will need to select "Restore my computer to an earlier time"
then click next,
select the day before you installed IE 7 and click next
Make sure you have closed all your programs (you might wat to print this out)
now keep going forward until it is done.
Let me know if you need anything more.
It will take away all Internet Explorers not restore it to the old version.
I hate IE 7 too.
That is what I was afraid of. Would I have to go back into IE and install the previous version. I guess I had 6.0.
Here is the copy of what I found under the microsoft website:
To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP
Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."
Click "Add or Remove Programs."
Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.
Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove." (If you are running Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview — March 20 or later, it is not necessary to check "Show Updates.")
Go here and select the appropriate version of Internet Explorer 7 for your operating system.
