I Was Wednesday Wondering......

How often do you take your 10-14 yr old to the theater--either movie theater, or an actual theater type show?

Alex is a movie fanatic and goes at least once a month. Rachel only goes if there is something she really wants to see; maybe 4-5 times a year. I haven't taken either of them to a musical or theatre show, though both of them

Great question.

Connor and I have a standing date for the theater twice a year. Movie theater we go maybe twice a year (just the two of us). Museums we go every other month or so (as we can afford it). Concerts about twice a year (last one was Randy Travis).

I have taken her to a movie theatre often but you know, I have never taken her to a play or musical theatre. I should because she is very artistic and loves music and acting. I am a fool! I will take her ASAP. Thanks for the bump on the head.

DH takes Phillip to the movies more often than me but I'm going to be taking him very soon. They will go every couple of months depending on what is playing. Just movies here no concerts & such.

Before we bought our condo 5 years ago Jordyn and I used to go to plays and concerts all the time, but after buying the house, with money, it slowed down. We still go here and there, but it is a lot less. The movie theater over the past year we have went a ton because we had lived just 3 blocks away from a $2 movie theater. When we lived in Michigan we went to country concerts all the time at an outdoor ampitheater also. The last concert we went to was Clay Walker in Sept. '05, movie was over Christmas, Night at the Musuem, and play, hmm, it was the Nutcracker Ballet when she was about 8 or 9. But I am hoping to get her to see Les Miserables as soon as it comes through Austin or next time we are home in Michigan and its through town.

For us it really depends on what is showing, we'll go for months without seeing a thing and then see a few movies in one month if it is something we really want to see.

We see a sports event more often than we got to the movies, LOL. Since we have small blocks of time we usually get DVDs which we can shoehorn in when its convenient. There are kids theatre shows around here but the girls have seen more w/their school than w/us ;-). Jamie just went last yr on a school trip to see the Baltimore Nat'l Symphony -- uh its rare we got to symphony/chamber music or opera.

Can't remember the last live music show we saw w/the kids. Usually its one of those street festivals or something.
