We dont' fly much and I know that you can't bring any liquid more than 3 ounce in original container on a plane but can you bring packages of juice boxes, bags of snacks, etc in your regular luggage?

You can check the airline website but this is what I found for US air.
Declare larger liquids. Prescription medications, baby formula, juice and milk (when traveling with an infant or toddler) are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.
As for checked baggage you can take whatever you like, juice boxes, etc. For carry on, the only liquids are 100ml or less and if you have a bunch of shampoo samples you have to put them in some kind of a ziplock bag.
Answers to your questions:
"can you bring packages of juice boxes, bags of snacks, etc in your regular luggage?"
ANSWER- Yes (but remember that your bags may sit on a hot tarmac and the cargo area on each plane is not climate controlled----so I don't like to put edibles in my luggage).
"Can you bring bags of snacks like chips unopened in your carryon? Can you bring fruit?"
ANSWER- YES, within the limits of what the TSA allows (check their web site). Liquids are a call out for TSA though. Personally, I just like to get through security and then I'll suck it up and buy my chips and drinks at a concession stand near the gate, as it just seems like I'd more likey clear security that way without any hassles or extra scrutiny.
Also- remember to take off your shoes, remove belts, metal objects and take your lap top out if its bag... pretty soon we'll all have to get naked to go through secuity... LOL

I have not been on a plane since December.
