Everyone busy reading today?

We stopped at ToysRUs this morning and Kristen used her g/c she got for her birthday to buy the new Harry Potter book. I read the first two chapters out loud and was bugging her to read and she didn't want to do it out loud so claimed she would read silently. I said fine, I'll catch up but she hates when I read ahead. She claimed she was only going to read a couple of pages but ..... 45 min later she's still at it. LOL Once she tuckers out I'll catch up with her. I refuse to drag this thing out for a week, I NEED to know what happens. :-)

LOL..that was my guess, too.
Aly read through the first book again and she's back to the second book. She read the whole first book and stopped mid-way in the second book 2 years ago.
We haven't bought the 7th book yet, though. She's got too much catching up to do.

We stayed out until midnight. For a 700 page book. How crazy are we?
My oldest (13) is a huge fan of the series. Which is why we were out until midnight between Barnes and Noble and Boarders (the Boarders party was better, much quieter and civilized than the B&N one). I have 2 very tired kids today. Maybe we'll watch 1 of the older movies tonight on video.
Last time I checked, she was on chapter 8. Dh is on 5, and is reading some of it now. I have yet to see the first chapter. Knowing my luck, I'll be starting the book when all of the spoilers come out on the internet. I'm doing the summer reading program at the library. You can win prizes for reading books. But kid books don't count, so I can't put Harry on there.
Hey, our library has an adult reading club too with some neat prizes. I was renewing some books the other day, and the woman behind the counter (not helping me) came up to me with a form and signed me up (whether I liked it or not...lol). I have to read or listen to 3 books. They actually don't have specifications that it can't be kids' books, I'd just feel pretty silly putting any on there. But it DOES look like you have to CHECK it out from that library system on your card. I got Nineteen Minutes and To Kill a Mockingbird (yes, I JUST read it for the first time this summer!) from another library system and those will likely be the only adult books I read this summer.

I'm being a very good and patient mommy today!
Aly & I were reading The Naked Mole Rat Letters together and she did NOT want me to get ahead of her.
Of course, I ended up begging for permission and there was a falling-out area about her mother's death and Aly KNOWS I can't read that aloud (either me reading to her or she reading to me--we went through this with The Tiger Rising and I just sobbed and sobbed and sobbed through the reading).
So, I let Aly read through that part on her own and then we resumed at the end.

Ramona Mom to 2 great kids and wife to one wonderful hubby since 1990!
Ok, it's Sunday now, but I wasn't on much yesterday!
I went to B&N at about 2:00pm yesterday and I was hoping they still had copies---well there were at least 200 copies left! The stacks were huge.
Nathan started reading at about 5:00pm and took it with him to a gathering of friends we went to and sat in the family room and read. I think he is on about chapter 9. He says it's good so far.
I still need to finish the 6th one. I stopped about 1/2 way thru because it was not very exciting, but I do want to read the last one when he is done.
