Aly is starting to not like the prospect of going to school...lol. I think it's more that she has always been a night owl and she's been living that up all summer!
She starts 5th grade tomorrow, too! There are about 90+ kids in her grade level.
My kids still like school. Veronica is looking forward to the first day (still over two weeks away) and Abe misses his friends from his class. They do have their days when they'd rather stay home than go, but for the most part, they enjoy it.
She's never loved the work aspect of school but she tolerates it for the social aspect. LOL If I told her tomorrow I was homeschooling her she'd be delighted beyond words. So she likes to go back and see her friends and she's looking forward to taking music this year and she likes the sports and clubs but she doesn't love school in general. It is very regimented for her and she finds it frustrating to often have to wait for others to get it. But as I said, she lives with it. She's be upset if school was next week, she's not ready to go back but she'll be okay when it starts. I dont' have to fight with her about going or anything like that, but if you asked her if she liked school she'd say no.
My 13 yr old daughter still absolutely LOVES IT..she starts thursday and she's so excited! She's a real 'joiner' as well, her entire life seems to rotate around her school life!
All of my girls are looking forward to school. My 3rd grader (Emily) has one little boy that torments her...or maybe she torments him...depends on who is telling the story. He stresses her out slightly but other then that she is so excited about seeing her friends again. Rachel's best friend moved over the summer so I hope that she will do ok. She will be in first grade. Caitlyn my oldest is excited about intermediate school. I know that she has a first year teacher so I know NOTHING about her. I just hope that some of her friends from elementary school are in her class. She went from 2 4th grade classes to over 600 5th graders in one school. I'll let you know how the first day goes!
My son (13) loves school and he can't wait to get back into the classroom this year. He's a High School freshman this year, so it's a new school for him as well.
Matthew did not like school from the beginning but that was due mostly to very negative teacher. Rachel loved school and was thriving socially , but academically she was not being pushed enough. Alex would have enjoyed school if he had not had to deal with the bullies. Their influence overshadowed the good parts about school. All of them love homeschooling .

All three of my kids love school.
My daughter loves school, but she could do without the hours of daily homework.
We have another three weeks of vacation.
For the most part my kids love school!
