I'm Marie in Dallas and I'm fairly new to the gym. I mainly like to run as a workout, but trying to lose 75 lbs is proving hard without some type of weight training. I have a membership to Bally's that is being used now, but I'm finding that I immediately head to the treadmills. I guess I'm a little intimidated by the machinery, even after a few personal training sessions. I figured coming here will give me some insight on what to do with the machines and how to do them and get somethign good together to get my weight off. I'm former military, as is my hubby, and he has made me a deal: if I get to within at least 5 lbs of my enlistment weight, he's book me, him and our daughter passage to Europe for a true vacation. But I have to lose it by 1 February 2009. Thus my understanding the need to incorporate strength training into my workouts. :)
