Question about board etiquette
| Mon, 11-26-2007 - 8:58am |
I read a thread about this on the teens board and thought I'd bring it up here....(I'm mostly a lurker there and don't post)
What are the expectations about replying to people who post to you???

I think its a good question.
I don't think you could possibly respond to every person who posts to you on a thread everytime.
I'm not sure there is a rule, I hope not. LOL I reply to SOME posts in a thread if I want to elaborate or comment on what they said but I don't comment to every reply as a matter of course. I think its just a personal thing, some do, some don't. I certainly don't expect it.
If there are a few replies, then I try to if I have the time.
I personally appreciate every reply I get and I TRY to give a response other than THANKS when I have time.
Well I guess I have to reply, since I asked!
I never really thought about it before, so I certainly don't think about others doing it..lol.
Sometimes I reply to each, like if I posted a picture (like down below) or a specific question (like my camera question) IF I have time (which I probably will have to do a blanket post on the pictures...), but I don't make it a rule to do so.
I've never taken the time to be offended if others don't post to everyone because I never noticed it. And like someone above said, it does make for an awful lot of reading through.
