Do the recumbent and upright bike work different muscles?

They both work your quads predominantly but also hit the other muscles in the legs. The upright bike works your core somewhat more because you have to hold yourself upright but overall, not a huge difference so do whatever feels better.

That is a great question. I feel the upright works your core much more too. Also, I feel I get a better workout from the upright. On the other hand, I think the recumbent is much more comfortable.

I find the recumbent more comfortable, too, just kind of lounging back!
