In your opinion, what are the most effective abdominal exercises?

I tend to tune out in class a lot when I'm taking a class so I appreciate the cueing, too which is why I do it. And, even if I've done a move a million times, I can regress and do it wrong and it does help me.

Know that their are quiet gym "geeks" like me who really appreciate all of the cuing and advice on form.

I cue like crazy but I think people just tune me out. Even if I go up next to the person and say it, they don't listen.

As squats go, the biggest problem I see is people not sitting back so their knees go over their toes.

Do you, as instructors, get tired of educating people on form over and over again?

I do a variety of sets and reps. But, as with most muscle groups, I firmly believe that if someone is doing hundreds of crunches, you need to make it harder.

I know crunches on a fitness ball have been shown to work all the ab muscles - especially if you go back and really get a lot of leverage each time you come up. I go through phases of what I enjoy doing. When I last worked out - 3 weeks ago!! - I was just doing crunches on the floor with my legs

I like to change it up because with each different exercise, I get sore, which tells me that I am working hard?
