Can you clarify what you are trying to determine?

I was wondering the same thing w/ male/female and why it's important. And, if it is, why post at women oriented site.

A tough crowd ...

I was posting in reaction to trends I see at the gym where I work out, and whether they are widespread. For example, while resistance and endurance are important, women seem to be much more poorly represented at the free weights stations than on the cardio machines. Other women I talk to say they're concerned about "bulking up", but I think this is a bogus concern (for several reasons), or just don't have the training for weightlifting exercise (I only started two years ago). But, I think people can be strongly influenced by what they see other folks doing, which is why I thought I'd ask folks here.

To answer your questions:
1) There is no way on these message boards to have a checkbox survey, like, do you use free weights, machine weights, cardio: check all that apply. Maybe the mods can consider adding this. But I thought a poll would get more responses since you don't have to sign in to respond.
2) Men sometimes post on other ivillage boards (e.g. parenting), I don't know everyone here, and with a small number of responses a few men could skew my poll. It doesn't cost much to count them separately.

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.
