Another one that we all probably know. Circuit training with high reps and low weight (eg hydrolic machines like Curves uses) is not effective in building bone mass for premenopausal women.

but that's only a very specific type of circuit training. the general concept of keeping your heart rate up while strength training is still sound (as a way to burn more calories and improve cardio health while strength training). like the kind of circuit training you do in your classes.

See, that's one reason I have problems with heavy lifting and group fitness. It's too fast for heavy weights, you need to go at your own pace. When I'm lifting on my own, my last couple of reps are really slow.
