I'm about to jump on the yoga bandwagon again and try out a hot yoga class.

I hope it is as good as everyone says it is...

I loved the heat. I'm always cold. I think it would be great after a long run because I can get the chills sometimes.

Ok, you ladies can't be having hot flashes yet, because the thought of hot yoga sounds horrible.

In the cruelty of nature, I'm having cold flashes instead of hot flashes.

Maybe it's an Asian thing...I am cold more often than hot. And Asians are the only people I know who can wear a wool sweater, a turtleneck and a coat in the middle of summer.

Jean, have you considered just trying another instructor? It sounds like you actually didn't mind the yoga part and just hated Mr. Acid Flashback In A Speedo.

I'm looking at Feb. 22 to try a class, because Sunday is the only day I have time to do it. And not this coming Sunday, because I am running 25K on Saturday (longest I have ever run is 21.1 - half marathon) and maybe hot yoga will actually help the recovery but I don't want to take that chance.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it. I would like the feeing of being really flexible because of the heat - that part sounds great. But being hot while working out - I hate that. :) Cathy

Unless I'm an outlier from the norm, it's not an asian thing.

The problem with the heat making your more flexible is that you can take it too far which is what I did with my elbow. There's no way I could lie on my arms flat in front of my body the way I did in class when it wasn't so hot. I think I hyperextended it.

I never thought of that. I wonder if that happens to a lot of people.

Weird things happen to me so I wouldn't be surprised if I were the only one.
