Start having her get up earlier.

Yes she's a bit early.

You don't say that this is causing her to be late for anything, so is it just the amount of time she spends on primping what bothers you? Yes it's a little early for this type of behavior but it doesn't seem particularly outrageous.

You've got some great suggestions already and take heart my 7 year old can spend 45 minutes getting ready. Can't wait to see what 10 brings. Insert eyeroll here. :)

I know how you feel--I think it goes with the age!

I comb Sherina's hair at night, but it's still hard for her to get to bed on time (we choose clothes

Thanks to Kelly (mom2emsopmax) for my beautiful siggy! Photobucket

We've never actually been late for school yet, but she starts to get really cranky and gives much attitude when her hair won't do what she wants.

About the clothing I would make your dd pick out her outfit the night before, have her try the stuff on at night,so if she finds something wrong with it she can correct before bed.

Gab can be fussy about clothing,so she decides the night before.

Don't know what to tell you about the hair.

Is she this way about school projects and such(a perfectionist)?

It might just be part of her personality.

What time does she go to bed?

Gab goes around 9,but she is up reading or watching a movie until 10-10:30,most nights.

She does get up fine in the Am,most days, but I am sure she needs more sleep.

If Gab's hair does not work the way she wants it,she justs puts it in a pony tail.

Gabby will be 12 in March

Yes, this is exactly the way she is with schoolwork and tests.

Perfectly normal....my now 11.5 yr started this yr spending most of her time gazing at herself in the mirror, mostly looking at her hair & declaring herself pretty LOL. She checks her hair now whenever she goes out...even if its to help DH fix something....one time he got so exasperated w/her taking so long, he called to her c'mon I need you to hold something for me while I use the electric circular saw to trim the mailbox post...she finally came out & the first thing she asked DH was "Does my hair look ok?" He about died and said "The mailbox doesn't care what your hair looks like, so get a move on!!"
