Too much high impact/intensity and knees

I don't think this is anything surprising but I just received this from Fitness Etc. It shows that the more high intensity/high impact work the more severe the osteoarthritis in the knees as we age.

IMO, it's about moderation. I wouldn't give up step, since you love it, but don't do it 6 days a week. But, then, if you find it's aggravating it, then I'd consider it, or at least taking it to a slower class. I think one of the problems with step is that it's taught too fast with too complicated choreography. If I teach harder choreography, I never go above 130 bpm, and that would be fast.

I already have made a limit of one step class per week, so I choose which one very carefully!

Yeah, I'd definitely be picky about a class if I could only do it once a week, too, and it might be causing damage.
