I was talking to the director about new class ideas. She wants to do a P90X, Beach body insanity, BOSU Xplode type class for people who want that high level of workout. It sounds like a class I'd want to take. But, she was asking if I'd be interested in teaching something like that. I think my class is kind of like that and the new one will be harder. I think an instructor who wants to teach that even higher level needs to be in amazing shape, which I don't think would be me at this point, after shoulder injury, bad winter of working out, etc. What kind of instructor would you expect in this type of class? I hate being lame with "You do push ups, I'll just watch!"

Do a class with those machines that are the giant hip thrusting things and they look like they belong in porn. :D
I haven't done a class in ages but energy level and enthusiasm are far more important to me than how "in shape" the instructor is. Plus, I do prefer it when instructors are walking around (except when they can't, like in step) because that adds to the energy and enthusiasm. I've always had the impression that instructors who stay up in their little spot and do the class are more interested in their own workout. But that's just me.
I agree with Kel.
