Tax gyms and yoga!?!

The DC Council has a brilliant idea to raise revenue by taxing gym memberships and yoga... http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dc/2010/05/proposal_to_tax_more_dc_servic.html?hpid=sec-metro
My friend who posted this on Facebook suggested taxing people based on BMI instead. LOL. I know it's terrible but really it makes just about as much sense as taxing gym memberships!

That's crazy. DC is trying to get people to move and be healthy? Okay, fur storage, sure, tax that. But yoga? Darn, first the FDA wants to take away my salt (I'll have to eat twice as many potato chips to get in my salt now) and now this. I wonder if they'll start taxing my race fees.

I like the BMI tax...the higher your BMI, the higher your healthcare tax.

A body fat tax. A BMI one would tax most professional athletes and anyone athletic. I'd vote for tax credit for personal training.;-) I'm just kidding.

Actually, I think that would be logical.
