Yes Rachel eats a bowl of cereal or takes a Luna bar out w/her to the bus stop to eat....Jamie has more time in before care to eat so she brings yogurt/pop-tarts, granola bars, etc. Be interesting to see how Rach copes this yr since I'll be dropping her off early at the HS for her Chinese class....since that starts at 7:25 I'm not sure how much time she'll have to eat in the car ;-)
Sigh. I wish. I fought this issue for 5 years, the arguments the mornings off to a bad start. I finally gave up as it was just ugly all around. I have a kid who has NEVER been a breakfast eater. She wants to eat breakfast about 90 min. after she gets up. She just can't eat immediately on getting up. Even an hour later is pushing it for her and she has zero appetite. Her elementary went to a balanced school day which meant two lunches the first at about 10:45 and another at 1:00, so that worked for us because school started at 9:00 so she was hungry by first break. Now its not so convenient. Lunch is at 11:30 which isn't bad but I just have given up trying to force her. If she's up I'll ask if she wants something and sometimes she'll say yes but not often. But I know its her nature, her father is the same. She also eats a large snack before bed at 9:30 so I don't think she's that hungry in the morning. If she'd had nothing since dinner I'd likely be more concerned but sometimes you have to let their body regulate itself and say when its ready to eat.
Well, I never used to give Jasmine breakfast before school because Jasmine's school provides breakfast for the kids when they get there, but this past February, Jasmine was diagnosed with epilepsy & put on medication.
Isaiah is like me. He cannot eat as soon as he gets up and if he does its very little. I keep toaster strudel, fresh fruit and yogurt on hand. He will eat something small but that is about it. His largest meal of the day is lunch. (God help my wallet..LOL)
Jasmin and Julian eat breakfast every morning without fail and will be PISSED if they have to miss it. I wake them up in enough time to have hot breakfast (oatmeal or waffles) but sometimes when they lolly gag they have to settle for a cereal bar or something on the go.
Although I do agree and think it is important that the kids each breakfast in the morning, I don't require Jordyn to eat breakfast, but she doesn't have lunch until almost 1:00 at school this year and there is no way she can go that long without eating, so she sits down and has breakfast at home before the bus picks her up usually.

Alexis has never been a big fan of breakfast. Sometimes she will eat it, sometimes not.
Caleb LOVES breakfast and makes a packet of oatmeal each morning. I'm happy with his choice and hope he keeps it up for now.
