Shoe issues?

Okay, I think we have a shoe fetish in our home. Sigh. I just came home and realized my front entry (very small) is FILLED with shoes. So I count. 3 pair of sneakers for me and a pair of crocs (plus the new Converse shoes I put on my feet this morning). Kristen has 3 pair of sneakers, a pair of crocs, a pair of riding boots, her new Converse sneakers plus the pair of flats she's wearing right now. Then there is the 6 pair of shoes in the closet, my flip flops in my bedroom and her flip flops by the couch. We brought 3 more pair of shoes into the house this weekend. Sigh. I can only imagine if I had 3 kids and a husband, it would be a mountain of shoes. Time to get harsh I think and cull the herd.

Sounds like us, too.

But we will NEVER be as bad as th woman who lived in this house when we bought it! I have a quite large (for a house built in '81) walk-in closet...probably about 6'X5'. The entire floor was covered in dress shoes minus a small little part to walk into the closet.

Hee hee!! That's a constant battle at our house too! We have a three level rack (two plus floor) next to the back door and some how we still end up with shoes all over the entryway (which is actually part of the kitchen). Megan has a gazillion pairs of shoes (the soccer cleats are gone though, thank goodness) and believe it or not so does dh. Evan and I keep it to one pair of tennis shoes, one pair of casual shoes, and one pair of dressy shoes. Once in a while my running shoes get mixed in their too. Most of the time all but four pairs are on the rack but about once a week Megan gets drafted to corral the shoes. I have declared that the middle rack is mine because then no one can pile shoes on top of mine (which are somewhat expensive). It gets even worse in the winter when we add boots to the mix! :(

Sounds like us! LOL. There are always shoes by the front door. I've put them all in a plastic tub, that helps.

If you figure out how to cull the herd let me know. Nik has had a shoe fetish since she was old enough to know what shoes were. It goes w/her book fetish. At any given time there are shoes of Nik's in just about every room in this house. My entry from the garage to the kitchen is her favorite drop off point & she had 4 pair there one day & 2 more inside.

Btw the only time I ever had to carry her crying out of a store was when she was 3 & we went to Borders Bookstore, I think she thought she died & went to heaven, she was awed & sat right down on the floor in the childrens department & started looking. To this day the only thing that has changed is she no longer sits on the floor, its not cool.

Books & shoes I guess it could be worse.
