I second the Always pads, love them, they are thin and that will be the most important to her right now.

Wow!!! How exciting and confusing and grown up all at the same time. I'll keep everything crossed that it's a short, light one so it doesn't interfere with starting a new school year.

How you coping, Mom?

Adrienne, Kotex makes a long pantiliner also.

I agree with the Always pads, but I would also say Kotex, that's what I use most of the time, they have the long with wings which are nice.

Congrats to Nik!Gabby's biggest fear is starting for the 1st time when she is in school.I have no idea what kind of pads to buy her since I rarely wear pads, until the end of my period and then I just use liners.I am sure Gab will hate any type of pad, when I thought she might have statred and I had her wear a liner, she claimed the liner gave her a wedgy and that it was too big and uncomfortable. My cousins little girl started when she was 10 and she would refuse to carry pads in her purse, because she figured if she did not carry them to school,it would not strat in school.I am glad her 1st period seems to be light and short.DId she start school tday?

Yep, she started school today & wouldn't you know her period was darker this morning than it has been. I have to get out & buy some Always pads, thats what everyone here has suggested.

She saw all the kids in the front of the school & she kept saying she didn't want to go, she paniked there for a minute. Her group of friends was thankfully all standing together right in front of where we had to drop her off. When she got to her friends one girl turned & hugged her. I just want her to come home & say she loves MS & her teacher is really nice. last yr. she told me she didn't like her teacher & maybe I should have listened & followed our instincts & done something.

Needless to say I'm going to be nervous until I pick her up & hear what she has to say.

If those have the light green packaging then I bought those last night for her to try w/out the wipes. Right now I'm buying the smallest packages they have until I know what she likes.
