Teasing/Bullying--When to Interfere?

Hi and help!

My 12 year-old girls are being teased on the bus by another 12 year-old girl and her 11-year-old brother. Both of my girls are very shy (one has an anxiety disorder--this is not helping) and will not "fight" back. The teasing is pretty harsh at times and involves mocking one of the girl's physical disability. I'm coaching the girls on how to stick up for themselves. It's not working. I really want them to learn to fight their own battles, but I wonder if it's time to contact the other kids' parents. Then again, that could backfire, and last thing I want to do is to make it worse. Any advice?

TIA

First of all, sorry to hear your girls are having to deal with this, it is definitely not ok.

I agree, this is something the school should be dealing with.
