Thankfully the commute in to work was smooth altho there remains cleanup to be done after yesterday's inauguration. Still lots of trash, esp coffee cups, around as well as fencing, bleachers & stands to be picked up. So its pretty quiet in my office, haven't seen my boss yet & its almost 9:30am.
Both girls were cranky this morning - Rach has two final exams so I didn't have to drop her off at the HS but she does have basketball practice today since she has a game tomorrow. Jamie
Matthew has his testing for Gifted Math this morning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him. I will be proud of him either way, but I think it would boost his self esteem to make it; plus---he's bored in math right now. I'm very proud of him!! Not only is he handsome, but he's smart, too ;)
Other than that, not too much is going on today. I was going to go in to the hospital and volunteer, but it's too cold, LOL
I need to do a bunch of laundry. . . What else is new? I'm also avoiding my mom's phone calls. She's called twice. Thank goodness for Caller ID!
Hope the Icy Hot does the trick for Jordyn. LOL about Emma's coat. Toddlers have a way of doing that! My brother systematically hid about 7 pieces of my parents good silver at about 2 1/2. My mom didn't find it until AFTER she had ordered replacement pieces. He had hidden them under the couch cushions in the living room. My dd made me 30 minutes late for work one day when she was about 16 months old because she hid my car keys which I had put on the kitchen table so I could "grab and go". After tearing my hair out for 30 minutes, I found them under the bottom cushion on the glider in her room. Good luck finding the coat!!
Good morning everyone! Today is catch up day - finishing laundry, menu planning and grocery shopping so we can eat real food, making phone calls, etc.
This afternoon Evan has a follow up dr.s appt. to check on his eye (which looked slightly better this morning) and if he gets the okay, swim practice. That's it. Secretly, I hope he doesn't have practice because I would love a quiet family dinner at home without running around and he has a Social Studies test on Friday that he should be studying for. Megan could use the evening for reading. She's tackling Inkheart at the moment (and she's only in 3rd grade) and she still has about 400 pages left. She has to read this and one other book (a biography I think) by the end of March.
Oh, we were told on Friday that our insurance was reinstated. Well, yesterday when I went to pick up Evan's antibiotic the pharmacy tech tells me (in front of the kids) that we didn't have coverage. How do I explain that to the kids without lieing (sp) or alarming? Evan heard the total and freaked! He felt really badly that we had to spend the money. I tried to assure him that of course it wasn't his fault and it was fine that we spent the money - health is important. I don't think he really felt any better. Later on last night, we got into it because he wouldn't do his math. Between the money and the way he acted he feels just awful about himself this morning. Things that make him feel badly about himself have been happening more and more lately. How can I correct his behavior without destroying our relationship and his self esteem. I know I personally have issues with my mom (and myself) because of the excessive criticism I received as a tween and teen. Acccckkkk!

Good morning, got a good start this morning, even had time to stop for gas and coffee and still got to work on time.

Girls went back to school today after their "snow" day (of no snow) yesterday.
I am suffering from a migraine. I called in to work... I am heading back to my dark room. You ladies have a good day.

Oh, I'm so sorry Nicole! I hope you feel better really soon.
