This has happened to my exH also and the pills he was given were not even pills that he was supposed to be taking. Also he is on psych medication, and a few times the pharmacist (lucky he is on the ball) had to call back the nurse practitioner because she wrote the wrong dosage of the medication on the Rx.
glad you caught the problem.Hopfully the visiting nurse can get you the right pills today.Sorry you are going through so much stress trying to get your dh to see a pulmany specialist. It is hard enough taking care of some one ill or being ill then having to worry about seeing a dr makes the stress double.
How is Nik holding up?Is she glad to be back at school?I hope the school has been cooperative with you during this stressful ime.I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
No school this week but she has 2 essays to do for LA & a project on Egypt plus a tone of math to catch up on. The thearter kept 2 parts for her in the spring play so that makes her happy. Shemissed try outs for the school musical & wasn't happy about it but can live w/it.
At least Nik will keep herself busy.Gabby did an Egypt project in Dec.Is Nik still doing those crazy book reports?I am so glad Gab does not get projects like that. She did have to write an orgin of myth, but it did not come with a huge rubric. At least Nik gets to be in a play. Will they let her be in the musical as part of the ensemable?I know our school does not cut at the M/S level and since you had extenuating cercumstance they might let her.Gabby is in her school musicial,Bugsy Malone Jr.She has a pretty big dance part.So practice for that plus dance have been keep her pretty busy. Her next major project is for science and she has to build a plant cell, but they are actually doing it in school for a change,we just have to send in the junk for them to build it.Glad Nik seems to be getting used to school again.Hopfully she will get her work done over the break.
OMG Dee, that is just inexcusable on the part of the pharmacy!! You are so astute to have caught that though! They can really harm someone with mistakes like that. I understand they fill hundreds of prescriptions daily, but they need to take the time to double check. I would be LIVID! This is one of the reasons I am trying to go to school---to become a patient advocate of sorts. There are too many situations like this!
I'm also sorry about your PCP and the referral. I would call her daily until she gets on the ball. There's no excuse for that either. Trust me, I know how busy doctors are, but if a patient needs to be seen immediately, it is negligent not to ensure that that happens!
(((Hugs))) to you! You guys are still in my prayers.
Unfortunatly I think it is the insurance companies a lot of the time. When my mom was recieving her radiation treatment I have nothing but praise for the drs and their nurses. The same goes for my mom's oncologist.I think it was a blessing that she had to travel to the city and did not get treated in her county. However when she was trying to find her oncologist and radilogist the office staff was down right rude to her about her insurance. It isn't as if her insurance is something she did not work for. However since she is over 65 she is on medicare(I think, maybe it is mediccaid,if there is a difference)My mom worked for the state all her life and she had the worst time finding drs that accept medicare and her insuracance since it is for Srs.In fact her insurance would not even pay for her shingles vaccine. My mom just paid it out of pocket, since hr sister just got over shingles and she is still in pain.None of this has anything to do with the drs their hands are tied, when it comes to what insurance companies will and will not pay for.
I agree with you. The insurance companies can be EXTREMELY hard to deal with, from both the patients' and doctors' perspective. They are the bain of my husband's existence, LOL!
