dr. The visiting nurse was very unhappy w/how dh's appt went w/his primary care NP so she got him an appt w/a new dr on Friday. His NP didn't want to check his blood level for the coumadin until Monday & we saw her on Thursday. The visiting nurse was very uncomfortable w/this so she by passed his NP & got the new dr. to write a script for her to do it. It was higher than it had been. By the time we got to the new

Oh Dee...I hope that everything gets better quickly. Glad the visiting nurse stepped in and you got a new dr. Sorry you have to drive in the snowstorms.
I'm glad that Nik is getting back to her own things.
Glad to hear things are looking up. Drive safely!! Your visiting nurse sounds like a blessing!! I'm saying prayers for all of you.
It's nice that things are beginning to get back to normal for Nik. Hope she has a great time with the show! She deserves it.
Take some time for yourself. I prescribe a bubble bath and some wine or tea! :)
Glad that things finally seem to me looking up.Your visiting nurse seems to know what she is doing and it sound like she is a big help.I hope Nik enjoys her play. Now that Nik is gettin back into her normal schedule, maybe you can worry less about her and try to do a little something for yourself.Even if it is only reading a book, spending time on line or whatever it is that relaxes you.
Another snow storm & we have to drive for a blood check tomorrow. Nik is constantly worrying about her dad & feels insecure about being away from her brothers. Everytime we leave the house she worries he will fall or something will happen to him.
I just realized today that her next book project is due in 4 days. Its on a Newbury Award book & she has to design the award & then it has 10 different templates to be written in it. I had forgotten it was already the end of Feb. & when before we got home our days were spent going back & forth to either hospital or rehab & since we got home drs. offices. I have no idea how she will get this done in time. After this one she has another 1 due on March 26 & then a 2 book, same author due on May 1st. & the last one due in June.
I know what her day will be spent doing. Plus she still has an essay to write for LA. The poor kid just hasn't been able to concentrate. I hope the teachers realize this & ease her back into things.

Gosh Dee, I've fallen behind somewhat on this board and am just now catching up on you and all the medical issues. I'm glad you've gotten the meds worked out and hope the new Dr. works out. Why can't the visiting nurse do the blood draw? You guys shouldn't have to go in for that!
I'm not sure I understand why he is so ill, have they figured it all out yet? I'm sorry if I'm being too intrusive, you don't need to answer, but gosh, you have a lot on your plate. Hoping you all can get into a good safe routine soon and that things start to stabilize for your whole family.

Poor Nink.More stress you two do not need.I would just tell Nik to do her best on the project and leave it like that.Nik's book projects are unreal. There are very few sixth graders who can do projects that detailed without parental help.Plus it is reading class not arts/crafts class.I really think the bulk of the grade should be on weather or not she understood the book not if she can design a Newburry award. What book did she choose?
Does Nik have anyone she can talk with outside of your home about her worries and concerns? You all have so much to deal with now.
I'm really glad it seems that you're getting the medical care situation straightened out. What an ordeal you've been through!! It sounds like you have a really good visiting nurse. I'm glad your DH is getting in to see the pulmonologist, and has a new doctor as well. One thing I don't understand, though, is why the nurse can't just do the blood draw for you and save you the trip out in the snow!
I will continue praying for all of you.
And I'm with you. I'd be terrified to drive in a snowstorm! But I would definitely force myself to do it for my DH or my kids' health. . . Drive safely! I'm so ready for Spring!!
I would think the teachers DEFINITELY should be understanding with all that Nik's been through. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
