Well, I went to a new endo today to
I'm glad they found out what's causing the problems. What do you do about insulin resistance? Is it related to prediabetes/pre metabolic syndrome?
I've never heard that about vitamin D deficiency.
I've heard of it referred as metabolic syndrome but wasn't sure if insulin resistance was the same thing as metabolic syndrome or if it was one symptom of it.
Here's a link to metabolic syndrome.
Thanks, I tried to post before but had problems with my computer. I looked around for to distinguish all of them.
Here are 2 good articles on insulin resistance.
What I wanted to say before - when my little beast was driving me crazy - was that the thing that really depressed me most over this was that I've spent my whole life taking care of myself - working out and gradually becoming healthier and healthier with my eating. I quit smoking 11 years ago. Don't really drink. Go to bed at a decent time, get a good night's sleep, etc. And this is just heredity. If I couldn't overcome this with all my good habits, then I wasn't going to overcome it period. This and the hypothyroid issue. There really wasn't anything I could do about it.
It's just so odd to think of it that way. If I hadn't taken care of myself, I'd have all the other things that go along with it, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, being overweight, etc. I guess that should be good enough to balance out the negatives. and it's getting to be, but it's still such a shock, really. Thanks for the links.Informative. But, there's nothing about arms and sleeping and the vitamin D deficiency.
I know what you mean. I feel like I do everything you're supposed to do but you can't fight your genes.
