It's so healthy to have a lifestyle filled with fitness.

Eat, sleep, wander around the internet and run.

:P

And teach piano, but I don't *like* doing that.

Such an interesting life I lead...

Outside the gym, fitness related or non-fitness?

fitness: ski, skate, hike, run, rollerblade, bike

non-fitness: calligraphy, cooking/baking, volunteering, having coffee, doing nothing, watching Top Chef, learning Italian

I wander the internet, too. I'll bet I could do an internet marathon without training.

Jean, I think it's really awesome that you're trying to teach your kids those things. My mom sort of did the same thing. She'd encourage me to take a "mental health day", blow off school and go shopping with her. I remember feeling very split about it - it was kind of fun to be "bad" and be out shopping on a random Tuesday but I was terribly worried that the grown-ups would think I was a bad kid for not being in school (or worse - that I'd been suspended or something).

Try as she did, I still ended up a rather anal retentive adult. It's only been in my 30's that I find myself attempting to redo my childhood. :)

I have quite a few interests.

I enjoy snuggling up with DH and watching our shows together.

I love spending time with my cats and playing with them.

I enjoy Burning Man and BM-related activities. It has sparked an interest in costuming as my friend taught me how to sew boot covers and make hair falls.

I like doing random fun activities, like the Santarchy bar crawl and the Brides of March bar crawl.

I like going to parties and socializing with my close friends.

I like trying new restaurants although I'm often disappointed.

I like to bake but don't do it very often because I eat what I make. :)

I like to organize things from social gatherings to messy closets... it's weird but sort of relaxing.

I like to write. I enjoy expressing myself creatively through my blogs and also journaling.

I love music... specifically electronic music. It's one of the easiest ways to lift my spirits or get myself motivated.

I like trashy TV shows (the shows DH won't watch with me)... The Real World, Rock of Love Bus, Sober House and Tool Academy. Since I got a DVR in my gym, this is what is occupying me during workouts.

My daughter is the same way, and I wonder how much is nature vs. nurture.

I'm with you on the baking...and cooking...I always make too much and end up eating too much.

See, I think it comes down to nature vs nuture and nature wins out.
