Will I ever stop watching my back?

I just wonder...really I do.... I explained on my IL's board that my mom has become "supergrandma" the all knowing and all caring now that I'm pushing out her grandbabies. She never cared this much about me when I was little. So far she's been nice for about 2 years now. But I just wait...and keep looking for the balloon string, or the knife in my back. I guess some parents make better grandparents than parents. She always tells me I need to discipline my son, which I do, but not to the extent that she did with me.

Sometimes you fake it, till you can make it.
I have no idea. I watch my back with everyone and expect everyone to hurt me at some point because everyone I have ever cared about has hurt me.
My mother is also a better hrandmother then she was a mother so mybe if they don't have to deal with people all the time they can deal with stuff better?
