Today is Fat Tuesday!
What is Fat Tuesday?

How did Mardi Gras begin?

Fat Tuesday is Mardi Gras, the festival New Orleans, Louisiana, is famous for. "Gras" is French for fat and "Mardi" is French for Tuesday.

The annual festivities start on January 6, the Twelfth Night Feast of the Epiphany, when the three kings are supposed to have visited the Christ Child, and build to a climax on Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, which always occurs on the day before Ash Wednesday. The parties and parades will continue until Lent begins at the stroke of midnight on Tuesday.

Mardi Gras is a legal holiday in New Orleans. It is scheduled to occur 46 days before Easter. Since the actual date Easter occurs on changes yearly, Mardi Gras can happen on any Tuesday between February 3 and March 9.

For two centuries it has been an annual event in New Orleans, except during the two World Wars.

You be careful. In the winter probably 10 glasses of water is about all we should have. In the summer we tend to need more. I've been doing 8 glasses of water and 1 cup of coffee. If I eat the cc pizza I will add the 2 glasses of extra water the recommend.

Hey Wren poppin' in to say hi - thanks for the congrats on my loss. Wee...happy camper here.

I noticed you mentioned eDiet. I almost joined that. Very close to doing it. Had the credit card ready to join. But I knew I would never be "true" to a computer so I didn't do it. It wasn't the type of thing I would feel committed to in the end.

Did you try it and did it work at all for you? Lose any weight on it? Just curious about what I might have missed out on.

see ya Karen

Yeah I had a feeling eDiet wouldn't be enough of a commitment. I came so close to giving them my money too. I just decided at the end it wouldn't work for me.

I wondered if you got any weight off with them. I guess not-LOL-LOL

I have spent unbelievable money over the last couple years on "weight loss" junk.
Money I wish I had back now---LOL

OH WELL....I learned my lesson - there is no quick fix to this...it is long term lifetime thing. I get it-LOL

Hubby doesn't really see a hip bone yet-LOL
But I have one coming soon hopefully but he likes the idea of me in a nice new bathing suit-LOL

see ya Karen
