hi, wren.

so you went running to get your stress level down, huh? i found myself dying to do the same thing today! i just hit a terrible writers' block at work and sooo needed some hard exercise to get rid of all the energy and clear the slate . . . instead, i ended up going for a nice long walk with a co-worker. that worked just fine, though something higher intensity would've been better. exercise is amazing for stress relief, isn't it??

have a great night, wren.

hey, wren. i am so sorry about all this trouble at dd's school. i remember i, too, took advanced courses, but thankfully our school weighted the ap classes more heavily in the gpa ranking than the regular classes. of course, that raised a huge controversy from the parents of kids taking the easier stuff . . .

don't worry, wren -- i know, that's easier said than done. but it sounds like your girl is a smart one and she will score well, and still make it into school to pursue a pharmacy degree. you have shown her that strong will and determination can help you achieve what you set your heart on. she can do this. don't let this disappointment get either of you too down. she can still succeed, despite this!

I work at a university and high school students with AP classes have several options.

They can CLEP out of a college class, by taking a test to see if they know the material. The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is used often by high school AP students, to receive college credit for the high school AP classes.

Also there is Advanced Placement Credit.

Our University participates in the Advanced Placement Program of the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB). Advanced Placement course participants who score 3, 4, or 5 on the CEEB Advanced Placement Tests will be awarded credit. A grade of ‘P’ for passed hours will be awarded in appropriate degree courses.

A list of Advanced Placement examinations, minimum score requirements, university courses fulfilled and semester hours of credit is available in the Nontraditional Credit guide available from the Office of Admissions.

An official transcript of AP credit must be provided from the CEEB.
