i totally agree, wren -- this board is the *best*. and all your input is wonderful. thanks so much!!
another great way to add the heat is red pepper flakes, powdered cayenne, or actual fresh peppers. yum!
you have a great evening, too. i just got in my second cardio session of the day. am about to kick this infection, i think. or at least am on the upswing of getting better. and i am trying to be very rigorous in my eating in preparation for the trip!

Mel,
thanks *
Jacqui,
hi wren,
i didnt realize that you had posted a question to me in your journal...
as for the mustard...i just slice the egg and put the mustard on top....i like the german kind...a good grainy stone ground type...you know one day at lawl, i was told i couldnt use mustard(?)
thanks for the info, wren. my wasa must be the light variety, too. 20 calories per piece. very filling! great with soups or just a touch of sf jam!
the hot sauce obviously works great for you, so i would not change a thing. i like it too myself, but have to go easy on it. i can rarely have just a dash here or there -- i use a *lot* when i use it, so the sodium does start to get to me. i settle for a bit of salsa sometimes instead to fill the spicy craving! i love salsa on the eggs, for instance.
the spinach salads sound terrific. i look forward to adding them back in, but have a little fear of doing so after the spinach scare . . . .
well, good night!

Evening Wren!
I'm having Thanksgiving at my house. That's "our" holiday. That way both my family and my husbands' family can come over and we're not traveling to two separate dinners. And last year we were in the process of remodeling and moving so we didn't end up having Thanksgiving at all :( This will be the first holiday without my mom, so I do want to make it special. We'll be having 15-20 people over, so all the food leaves with them and Friday is a new day. I like your idea of just a teaspoon of everything. And I could pass on the rolls as long as I can have a drop of gravy on my mashed potato. Deal!
DH went through with his lawn sweeper and gathered up all the leaves. There's really just up next to the house to do. Hopefully I'll get to it tomorrow. We still have one tree that has just barely changed its leaves. Why can't they all cooperate and drop those things at the same time?
I had grilled chicken wrapped in lettuce for dinner tonight. Yummy! I added some cucumbers and green pepper slivers in it too. The chicken was still juicy enough that it didn't need anything else at all. Although when I sat down to read your post I thought that a shot of hot sauce would've been yumm-o on it.
Hope you have a good rest of the weekend. Nite!
Jacqui
