wren, they didn't mention bars at all when i started stabilization or maintenance.

it really didn't surprise me since i haven't eaten the first lite bar since starting la. marg, how about you? since you didn't do the lites, maybe you had the same experience?

what kind of pitch was it? i don't really get the attraction of the lite bars when you can eat whatever you like in moderation. so i wonder how they try to "sell" people on them in maintenance and beyond. just curious. maybe they sing the praises of the soy? they told me how terrific soy was when i first signed up, but my comeback was that i eat a lot of soy anyway -> i don't drink cow's milk, only soy milk. and i use lots of soy-based vegan producuts. so they stopped the sales pitch. and i haven't heard one since. either i really convinced them that i wouldn't buy any *or* i have a terrific center. i think both apply actually. my center is excellent. they have a bbb award for so many consecutive years without customer complaints.

best, wren! again, i am so *proud* of you and so very, very happy for you. i look forward to your stabilization and maintenance meal plans. i could use a tip or two from the birdie! ;-) you are a creative cook and i admire that!

Wren, you know your center has a bunch of idiots...first TELL them what they are doing wrong.

Wren, that stinks about the center. I was so hoping that now you're in stabilization, soon in maintenance, that you'll only be going once a week and the less the better. I'm using the lites too, but I was under the impression that if I didn't meet my goal date (17 weeks) that I'd be short on lites to continue and would need to buy more. If I hadn't bought the lites to begin with up front, I would've saved $$$. Like you said, I really looked at it as paying for the program and the scale 2 times per week, but I'm not sure if I'll be buying anymore Lites myself.

I know you said you liked Shelby... how far are you from my center? I can't really say they are any better or worse, but at least you'd have someone who knows you already and have that relationship with. Just a thought.

Wren,

Did they give you handouts? I believe you are right a new food each week not each visit. I'd point out to the center what the handout or stabilization cards say.

Wren,

So sorry your center is not letting you get the refund --I'd maybe try checking with the area manager or writing a letter --you really should get the refund you made goal and all their switching you plan to plan was what slowed you up anyway.

As far as adding the foods back in your weight may go up a bit but it should even out week to week--I think that they say up to a 5 lb gain is normal and acceptable -- just be sure to keep measuring and eating on plan -- once these 6 wks are up then you can add in more combination type foods.

Also continue to keep your food journal so you can see if you slip or not.

Good luck you can do it!

Wren you are dealing with a bunch of snakes! I hope you gave them a good piece of your mind and I would definitely go to at least the manager about it! Unbelievable.

I don't understand: "Well if anyone of you are into this guarantee with the LA- YOU are NOT going to get the rebate back, no matter what, they promise you 2lbs a wk and when you miss one of those wk its a default on you. "

Because ONE week out of many, you didn't lose 2 lbs, you don't get a rebate??

I don't think the paperwork I signed said anything about mandating me to lose a certain amount per week. It said I needed to go in once a week, eat what was on the plan, and participate in "counseling", but it didn't say, "you MUST lost 2 lbs a week"!! I'm really freaked out! What exactly did they say?

Man, you should contact the Better Business Bureau about that center. They sound like a bunch of mean quacks. Hugs to you for having to put up with them.

Jess

Oh, and about your concern about stabilization: isn't it the point, that you start adding things back in and trust that your body will level itself out? You ARE going to gain, but then your body's going to get used to the new amounts. Right? (I'm looking expectantly at Marg and Mel now, hehe....) Wren, I'm sure it'll be fine. Trust Marg and Mel (don't trust that center of yours!).
