Just to get it started. Red plan, no lites.

7/5, joined up. 253.6 lbs.
7/10, meal plan day. 251.4 lbs.
7/12, first official weigh in. 249.6 lbs. Total loss 4 lbs.
7/19, second official weigh in. 245.8 lbs. Total loss 7.8 lbs.

I had no (official) questions, and she had absolutely nothing to say about my food journal. (Because it's all there, no cheats.)

Now, just gotta do that 39 more times!

Thanks Mel!

The mashed rutabaga is easy--boil up peeled and quartered rutabaga and turnip, then mash like it's potatoes, with your choice of mashing liquid--this time, I used Olivio butter (because the light margarine I had was disgusting) and fat-free half-and-half. If you're making it for people who aren't on a diet or watching their starches, add a potato or two in there to mellow out the flavor, and mash with real butter and cream. Salt and pepper. And I use dill, too. It's so good, and it's a veggie!

It's a good question, Wren.

They haven't said A THING to me about it. I think because I'll go for two weeks with only losing a pound or half a pound or maaaaaaybe two pounds, then I'll have a week where I lose FIVE pounds, they don't realize how much I'm losing in a month. My average is 2.6 or 2.7 a week, and they always congratulate me on that. They've never had anything negative to say about my weight loss being too fast--never.

So...I don't know. :)

Jess,

I am so encouraged by reading your journal. Congrats on all of your success!
Sometimes I feel like 40 more pounds is a big goal. But hey I am 10 pounds lighter than I was 5 weeks ago. Good luck on reaching your final goal!

Hope you have a great week!

Thanks! I'm glad I can inspire! :)

What helped my thinking at first, when my goal was a whopping 83 lbs away, was thinking to myself whenever I lost, like, 5 lbs, "Just 15 more times. Easy!" Or, for you, you could be like, "okay, I alread lost ten pounds. Just gotta do that 4 more times. No sweat!"

You're gonna be great! Keep it up!

I do love 'em, but a lot of people go "ewwww, rutabaga??" Admittedly, I only cook them this time of year, but now that i know they're veggies and not starches, and since I (SHHHH) don't really measure my veggies that much, I will eat more of them!

I was hoping for 197 today, didn't get it. But I'm still down. 198.4. That's fine. Weigh in is likely to be 200.4 or even 201. Whatever! My period starts today!

No workout tonight--rest night.

I have a crazy weekend coming up--my friend's wedding and all associated activites. Bachelorette party tomorrow night (b/c a lot of the wedding party is from England), rehearsal on Friday, and wedding on Saturday. I'm planning to be totally on plan--no worries. I have a hair appointment Saturday morning so my hair looks great with my dress, but it's at 10:30 and my hair has to be dry--so I either have to be up really early to get to the gym, or i need to skip the gym. We'll see.

And I'm getting stressed at work. A new hire starts today, and I'm his main trainer. It can get exhausting, so I hope he's brilliant and makes it way easy.

Gotta run!
