Just to get it started. Red plan, no lites.
7/5, joined up. 253.6 lbs.
7/10, meal plan day. 251.4 lbs.
7/12, first official weigh in. 249.6 lbs. Total loss 4 lbs.
7/19, second official weigh in. 245.8 lbs. Total loss 7.8 lbs.
I had no (official) questions, and she had absolutely nothing to say about my food journal. (Because it's all there, no cheats.)
Now, just gotta do that 39 more times!

Hi Wren!
90 RPMs (rotations per minute) biking is the equivalent of the running leg turnover. So I try to keep it at that so the "speed" part of my legs is kept up while I'm not running. Lance Armstrong averages between 100-110 on flat land. I'm guessing the 250 is something different? Some stationary bikes take the rotations and the tension and come up with a perceived effort somehow. Maybe it's that?
I think 45 minutes a day is fantastic! That's great you have one in the comfort of our own home!

I love new running shoes! Do you have a Fleet Feet near you? They will record your running gait on video and will find you a shoe that fits exactly what you need. Of course, being in a bigger city you probably have more of a choice than we do here. Fleet Feet is the only running store here... literally!

jess, you may be coming to a point in your loss where the free fall won't come so easily. as you get closer to goal, the loss is harder to predict. i hate to advise here, since i didn't lose much overall, but judging from others on this board (wren, for instance) the weight comes off more easily in the earlier phase, then is slower later. but you are so energized and committed to this goal, you will get there, regardless of what it takes!
i **love** your new pic. awesome. you have come soooo far! i am so proud of you. i can hardly believe all you have accomplished in a short period of time. 20 lbs was like a huge wall to me -- to knock down -- and very tough to hit, but you are busting through your loss, hitting goal after goal after goal! i am amazed at how well you are progressing.
best,
mel

Thanks Mel!
Actually, I think that this month, instead of doing the one-week free-fall, I just had nice steady losses. I'll take that, too! 2.8 one week, 2.4 the next--just as good as 0.4 one week and 5.0 the next!
I hit my Christmas 189 goal today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was 190.0 at 7am, and then I went back to bed for a while. Around 10am, I weighed again and 189.6! YAY!!! That was after eating sushi for lunch Thursday, Indian for dinner last night, and not drinking enough water yesterday. (Ooops. Too busy.)
And I also had a FANTASTIC second date with the 6'8" guy. Won't tell you HOW fantastic, but let's just say that I'm happy today.
If I don't check in much in the next days, it's not cuz I don't love you. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all!!!
Jess

Jess,
CONGRATS on making your goal! I am soooooo proud of you! What a great feeling! I am still working on making mine. I have been able to exercise for the past three days in a row, going on three tomorrow morning. I am happy to hear that things are going great with that 6'8" guy! How wonderful! Have a great holiday!
Shaye
Congratulations! What a Christmas present to yourself!
And sounds like Mr. 6'8" could be around for a while, huh? Is there another date planned?
Are you making it to the gym at all these next few days? I've been struggling, and I'm not sure how much I'll be getting in between now and Tuesday.
Have a good day!
Jacqui
merry Christmas eve!
I saw 189.8 this morning, even after a day of kinda off-plan eating. My family had a Christmas pollyanna party, and while I stayed away from most of the bad stuff, I still had some artichoke dip and cheese, but for the dinner itself, I had a large plate of salad with a little meat on the side. Laid off the bread, and only took a little chocolate torte for dessert. Didn't drink at all--carried around my 1L Evian bottle.
Then I met up with Mr. 6'8", and we ended up going out for a late dinner at a pub down the street from his house. I had a lite beer and a duck streudel appetizer (SO yummy) and a spinach salad with blue cheese. But I didn't eat a TON of this "bad" stuff, and that and the party food was pretty much all I ate all day. So it wasn't bad, really. I had plenty of water.
So now it's CHristmas eve, and I'm eating a nice lunch before going for an early dinner at my parents' house. They do a traditional Christmas eve dinner in the Polish tradition of my dad's youth, and frankly, none of the food is particularly appetizing. So we all suffer through it in the name of tradition, and then we open presents. YAY!
Anyway, I have to go finish up mashing up the rutabaga/turnip mash for tomorrow's christmas dinner. I opted not to hit the gym today. Just thought that my body could use a break. I had a great workout yesterday.
Happy Christmas/Holidays!
Jess
Sounds like you had fun and
Jess, you are doing great! I'm sure your body thanked you for the break.
Now, the sparks with Mr. 6'8" were still there? Sounds like a good evening!
Hope you survived your dinner last night. I guess it's a good thing that nothing appeals to you. It definitely helps you avoid temptation. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Dinner and Christmas Day!
