Just to get it started. Red plan, no lites.

7/5, joined up. 253.6 lbs.
7/10, meal plan day. 251.4 lbs.
7/12, first official weigh in. 249.6 lbs. Total loss 4 lbs.
7/19, second official weigh in. 245.8 lbs. Total loss 7.8 lbs.

I had no (official) questions, and she had absolutely nothing to say about my food journal. (Because it's all there, no cheats.)

Now, just gotta do that 39 more times!

Actually, I asked them "hey, if I complete my weight loss to 170 way before my paid weeks are up, do I get some money back?" and they said, "Not until you get what LAWL considers to be the ideal weight for your height, which is..... 141." Yes, folks, they expect a 6' tall woman to weigh 141.

Whatever.

I agree with the photo versus mirror analysis. I would have to do it clothed and unclothed, too. Because clothed, I look fantastic NOW. Naked, I need more work. :) So, once I get to 170, I'll see how it goes. Who knows? It might take me til April 17 to hit 170!

Went out with friends for happy hour tonight. I had a Beck's light beer (64 calories) and a diet soda. Then we went to a Lebanese restaurant for dinner. We didn't get started til too late, and I was just starving. I ate too much pita, but otherwise, can't go too wrong with hummus and cauliflower and stuff. And I knew we were going, so I saved fruits and starches (I had some wine, too). So, I feel full, but I don't think I did too bad, overall.

Tomorrow and Sunday are up in the air. Probably going to a movie with Mr. 6'8", probably visiting a friend to watch the Eagles/Saints game, doing some cleaning. Exciting life, eh? :)

Jess,

141 seems real low. I read somewhere maybe even here that a guidline is 100 pounds for five feet then an additional 5 pounds for each inch over that.

Sounds like you had a good night out.

Enjoy your weekend.

WHAT?!?! 141? For a 6' woman? For me they said they would allow 118, but no lower. And I'm 5'1. So they're saying that a person a foot taller needs only an extra 20 lbs? Wow!

And I know exactly what you mean about the clothes vs no clothes. I've learned the fine art of camouflage. Closthes can do wonders. I would suggest, however, not to leave that naked picture hanging on your wall... at least not in the livingroom! OK... I'm laughing hysterically at myself right now. I need more sleep!

How's your running coming? I haven't ran since January 1st. My foot has just been too sore. So I'm going to have to just read about your runs and drool.

Your weekend sounds alot more exciting than mine does! I don't have much planned at all. Have a good one!

Yeah, I think 141 is pretty ridiculous. I just computed the BMI on that, and it's 19. The low end of "normal" for my height is 18.5. My goal BMI is something like 23.1. So, that's their way of saying, "we'd rather not give you your money back". HA!

Slept great, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the scale wasn't horrible to me this morning, following my too-much-pita and too-much-wine last night. It was 188.8. I've only seen 187 once this whole month...otherwise, I've been plateauing at 188 for a while now. I want to see this MOVE! Again, i need more water. That's my #1 goal for today, actually.

Anyway, I went to kickboxing this morning and it was great. After the class (1 hr), I went up to the cardio area and ran for a mile, walked a little longer, and was done. Jacqui, I haven't done any 40 minute runs since that one last week, but I'm working my way back there. Yay!

I might actually be going to a funeral in a little bit. I don't really know the man who passed away, but he's my nephew's great grandfather and the funeral is literally 3 minutes away on foot, so I should go.

See you later!

great idea, jacqui. on taking a pic and using it to gauge whether you've hit the right weight. i need to try that. i usually feel slimmer looking in the mirror than when i look at myself in pics.

jess, you have got to be kidding me that they want you to weigh 141. that is crazy! they told me that the lowest they'd help me get is 127 and i'm only 5'5". geez, asking you to hit 141 as an ideal weight sounds nuts! anyway . . . . i know you won't let them pressure you to do that, but it is the oddest thing ever.

curious how things are going with mr. 6'8". hope you guys have a great time out!

No no, just to clarify:

They don't want me to get to 141. They want me to get to whatever goal I chose, which was 170, which was 41 weeks of weight loss.

But *I* think I'm going to hit 170 before I use all 41 weeks, so I asked, "Does that mean I get some money back, for the weeks I didn't use?" and they said, "No, they won't feel like they owe you money back unless you hit THEIR idea of your ideal weight, which is....141."

So they aren't saying I SHOULD get to 141, but that's the point where I'd get unpaid weeks returned to me.

***

Just had some cookies at the wake after the funeral. They were really good.

That's all. :)

I'm looking in my "Prescription For Nutritional Healing" book & it has this body mass index to go by: 6 feet tall: Healthy weight is from 140-183 lbs. at BMIs of 19-25; moderately overweight is from 184 to 212 lbs. at BMIs of between 25-29; and severe overweight is from 219+ at a BMI of 25 or over. I'm trying to figure out how they figure moderate overweight & severe overweight start at the same BMI, hmmm...but that's what THEY say...go figure! By its standards, you don't have much to lose to be in your ideal range.

If you truly feel better at a higher weight (AND considering a LOT of yours is muscle) i wouldn't worry too much what anyone or any book says. I was just curious as to how LAWL came up with that figure & if that was just by THEIR standards, or not. Just keep on doing whatever you're doing, it is obviously working for YOU!

Your journal truly IS an inspiration, i LOVE reading it!
Have a great night!

And let me chime in with some more factoids... I just got the Winning by Losing book by Jillian Michaels (the trainer on the Biggest Loser) and according to her book the average weight for a woman at 6' is 175. She says you can go up or down 10 lbs according to your bone structure and muscle. So 170 looks ideal!

Have a good Sunday!
