Just to get it started. Red plan, no lites.

7/5, joined up. 253.6 lbs.
7/10, meal plan day. 251.4 lbs.
7/12, first official weigh in. 249.6 lbs. Total loss 4 lbs.
7/19, second official weigh in. 245.8 lbs. Total loss 7.8 lbs.

I had no (official) questions, and she had absolutely nothing to say about my food journal. (Because it's all there, no cheats.)

Now, just gotta do that 39 more times!

Oh yeah, I don't like spending a ton of money on something I'm sweating up, BUT i've got some big girls that need to have a lot of support. Cheaper bras tend not to be too supportive. Update on this is that one of the bras I got last night won't do--straps aren't adjustable and I'm all flopsy in it. The other one seemed to do okay, but not as binding as my $40 one. (The $40 Champion one is starting to chafe my one boob, so I wanted a new bra. FYI.)

And yes, the rutabaga recipe will absolutely work without the turnip. To me, the turnip adds a little crunch and spice, but the rutabaga has a good flavor without it, too. Good luck!

***

Did a 30 minute run, then a long fast 30-min walk with a 7% incline--bust my butt, baby!

Just had some cauliflower/broccoli soup to stave off my hunger until I have dinner with Mr. New Guy. (MR. 6'8" is still around, but he's not really stepping up, so I'm exploring my other options.) (I'm a princess, Jacqui, a princess!!!)

See y'all later!

We had a major snow storm so my assessment was postponed until friday (my day off) SO needless to say I have not been to the gym - tee hee. I am down. Not to my pre-mexico weight but down. I get so pumped in the am and then the clothes go on and food goes in and ta da weight up! sometimes a couple lbs. HEY whoopi goldberg is promoting LAwl nice. Anyways tonight has been a little tough i just ate crackers = lowfat baked ritz but high in salt, not weighing until thurs to tons of water it is.

Sorry to hear you are up. You are doing all the right things. Maybe a change of work out will help. I cannot offer much advice on that. I am trying to get to the gym. Friday assessment and I will go tomorrow for some cardio.

Hope you had a great day

You ARE a princess :) And you deserve nothing less than a prince. Don't you EVER forget that! And yes, someday your prince WILL come. So don't you even think of settling for acceptable, or I'll be down there in a heartbeat to beat your butt! :)

As for the girls, I can't really speak from experience, but I've heard that RRS is the best for the larger chested. And with the running you do (you are ROCKIN' the running BTW!) you need the support. Going cheap in that area is the same as going cheap on your feet. You may not notice any problems right away, but over the months it could cause back aches or shoulder aches. Again, I'm certainly not speaking from experience in this are, but just what I've heard.

Hope you get that swim in. It's always nice to do what you enjoy!

And I'm right with you jumping on the "Eating Clean" bandwagon. I've noticed the added things creeping into my plan. The "condiments" have to do. I need to get back to the simple life!

Jess, I just wanted to reply about the sport bra situation. Go for the $40+ range, speaking as a full busted woman, the right fit is imperative. That being said, the "sport" bras at Victoria's Secret are not Victoria's Secret. I bought one there and looked at it more closely the tag said Bali. Hmmmmm, did I just spend $48 on a Bali bra?
So in a nutshell, buy what fits best and support those girls!

Good luck bra shopping!

I saw a $45 one at REI last night that I'll consider getting the next time I'm in the market for the super-duper sports bra. (For right now, I'm going to get my money's worth out of the $13 one I got at Target. Which should take, oh, three weeks.)

Well, back in the lower 188 again today, but dude, I gotta start seeing the 187's and 186's soon. I was SO excited to see 189 just before Christmas, but now I'm a little tired of it! Though, in perspective, sitting here at 188 and size 14 is a lot better than sitting at 260 and size 20 like I did for several years. BUt I want my 170 and I want my size 10!

I tried on size 12 hiking shorts at REI last night, just for sh**s and giggles, and they fit! Just barely, and boy was my cellulite jiggling, but hey, they fit. Yay!

I think my weigh in tonight is going to be annoying, but whatever, just gotta do it. And then I have to have a careful, non-kickboxing weekend. :)

jess, i tried the rutabaga recipe w/o turnip. let's just say "outta this world". i love this stuff. i'm not even a big mashed taters fan, but this stuff has a kick that i really enjoy. and it's great knowing it's better for me that mashed taters! yay! so nice to discover healthy foods in this journey!

so how did you like the target bras? do the job well? ;-) guess not so good *or* at least 1 of 'em isn't up to par. have you tried hanes at walmart? they worked fine for me. but this is a very individual type choice here. you need something that will get you thru your workout comfortably!!

i used to be a 36DD, so i feel your pain, sister. but thankfully am now a C !! woo hoo. that is a loss i was actually happy about! yes! such a freedom to not have to deal with weight in that area -- particularly when running.

I'm glad you liked the rutabaga! The best part is that the rutabaga itself is a VEGGIE!! If I make it without the potato, I can pretty much eat it guilt-free! I love the texture and the flavor and the spice. So, glad you enjoyed it too!

The Target one is a Hanes, i believe, and it was okay. I'm a little bouncier in it than my Champion $40 one, but it's tolerable!

I weighed in today, and it wasn't good. Well, not horrible, but it was a gain. This is only the second time I've had a gain on the program, the second time in 28 weeks. I haven't been into the water, and I've been eating out a lot, and the kickboxing, and, yes, some poor choices. This week will be better. It WILL! :)

So...

Wow, so many new folks here, and so many new journals! I really have to hunt for mine anymore. :) (That's a good thing.)

Anyway, had a good day. I got up and started to head into work, but the roads were too bad so i stayed home. I got a LOT done today--lots of cleaning and organizing. I took 3 bags of clothes to the local charity, as well as 4 bags of home stuff. I took out all kinds of trash. I feel like my apartment is all kinds of clean. Yay!

I drank lots of water, and I had a clean breakfast/lunch. I worked out a little earlier than normal, and it was great. I did the rowing machine for the first time in about a year. I had it set at my normal resistance and I did 5000m, but it seemed like it took a lot less effort and I finished about a minute earlier than I did a year ago. Cool! Must be all that running, has my ticker in good shape. I loved the feel of the pulling in my arms/shoulders, too. I'll keep doing this, to help complement all the lower body work I usually do. Then I did about 55 minutes on the treadmill, including hills and fast walks at 4.6, and a few running intervals. One of my toes is sore, so I laid low on too much running.

Anyway, i was 188.2 this morning, and I'm hoping to break back down into 187 tomorrow morning. 187.8 was the lowest I've seen in recent memory, and that was 1/10. I think I can do it again, and I can surpass. I'd like to see 185 by Thursday's weigh in (that's my morning weight on my scale), which could mean about 187 on LA's scale. I'm gonna work hard for that.

Anyway, gotta go get ready for my date. G'night!

Jess,

Sounds like you had a nice catch up day -- with your newly busy social life - I'm sure you are spending less time cleaning.

So you will have to let us know how your date goes -- and what you ended up eating. I know it is hard to stick to plan when you eat out.

If you have trouble finding your journal you can go to the folder view and then if you do not see it - click on the more link.
