Just to get it started. Red plan, no lites.

7/5, joined up. 253.6 lbs.
7/10, meal plan day. 251.4 lbs.
7/12, first official weigh in. 249.6 lbs. Total loss 4 lbs.
7/19, second official weigh in. 245.8 lbs. Total loss 7.8 lbs.

I had no (official) questions, and she had absolutely nothing to say about my food journal. (Because it's all there, no cheats.)

Technically on target for calories yesterday, and for all the LAWL categories, but not enough water = 188 this morning!! EEP!

So, water water water all day. A run at the gym tonight. Fish for dinner.

Jess,

Sounds like you enjoyed yourself the other day--and glad you jumped back on track the next day.

I'm sure you will be close to your goal weight by April 17th. And if not definately your goal size.

Sounds like you really had an intensive work-out -- WTG!

Also -read that you are getting rid of your larger sized clothes -- that is very smart -- it helps to give you extra motivation once you hit maintenance if you do not have those larger sizes around.

hey, jess, just a quick suggestion to deal with that frustration re: the weight machines at the gym. buy a couple of dumbells and do it at home! you have to focus moreso on proper technique and can work more muscles in a single move than with machines. plus, machines have the deficit of being designed for certain body types. so when you work with free weights, you *are* the machine and your whole body works to get the move done. just thought you might be able to cultivate an enjoyment for strength more easily if you can move at your own pace at home. give it a try -- what can it hurt? and hey, it's cheap!! a set of db's will run you 20 bucks or so depending on the weight.

Thanks Marg! At this point, I'm starting to be happy with what I've got. The 170 would be nice, but 185-ish ain't bad either! Hard to believe I was 70 lbs heavier just last summer. (I was thinking that this summer might be interesting--normally, I'm so hot-blooded anyway, and I'm sure the weight didn't help....but now I'll be smaller, and maybe won't get so hot!)

Mel, I have weights at home, actually. I just don't have the focus to do them reliably at home, which is why i should do it at the gym. It gets me to do everything without cheating. I just need to actually DO it, and probably better to do during the weekend when it's not so busy at the gym.

Water water water!

Thanks Jacqui, Susan, and Wren!

I did another short spin class tonight. Wooo! This one was definitely not a beginner class. I got to the gym about 15-20 minutes early, so I did a quick run on the treadmill. I was feeling like I needed to push myself, so I put the 'mill up to 6.6. That's a 9:13 minute mile or something (my normal 6.0 is a 10-minute mile). I did a little more than a mile before it was time for spinning.

So, like I said, it wasn't a beginner's class. That last time I did it, they were getting people practically off the street to do the class, so the pace was slower and the class more explanatory. Not this time! Different instructor, and different pace. And since I was a little more familiar with it, I was able to push myself more. And I had my heart rate monitor strap AND my watch receiver on, so I was able to really watch my HR. It was a great workout!!! I really liked it, and I'm definitely going to do it again on Wednesday.

So, after class, I went back up to the treadmill and did another 30 minutes. I ran half at mile at the 6.6 pace, then walked hills for 15 minutes, then walked a little and ran a little more. Stretching at home.

Now I'm finishing up a great healthy dinner. Yay!

Red, no lites:
B: eggs, 1/2 ww muffin, diet cran juice
sn: apple
L: salad w/ 4 oz chicken, ww pita, yogurt, orange
D: beef, brown rice, mashed rutabaga, low-sodium V8, string cheese
workout: 45 min treadmill, 30 min spin

I'm already addicted! I'm goin' Wednesday night, too.

I figure a few weeks of the short spin classes should get me ready for a longer spin class. THOSE cost $1 a class and require you to sign up ahead of time, but i'm up for it.

Yay!

Not to offer TMI, but I just had a nice #2. Flushing with water tonight, hope to see the scale back down again tomorrow.

I'm hungry, though. Boo.

Idea: gonna go make Jell-O.
