Just to get it started. Red plan, no lites.

7/5, joined up. 253.6 lbs.
7/10, meal plan day. 251.4 lbs.
7/12, first official weigh in. 249.6 lbs. Total loss 4 lbs.
7/19, second official weigh in. 245.8 lbs. Total loss 7.8 lbs.

I had no (official) questions, and she had absolutely nothing to say about my food journal. (Because it's all there, no cheats.)

Now, just gotta do that 39 more times!

I'm actually seeing Mr. Midwest tonight! I'm just eating dinner really quickly before heading up to his place for the first time. It's going fine. He's a great guy, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. (However, i'm talking to a few other guys, too. Just to have multiple eggs in multiple baskets. Once someone says, "I only have one basket of eggs," and I agree, I'll put down all my other baskets. Self-protection, ya know?)

Anyway, I did spinning and ran a mile. I was running a little late, and considering that I almost skipped the gym entirely, I'm glad to have gotten a little extra past the spinning.

A woman in the spinning class came up to me afterwards to comment to me on how much weight I've lost, how she could really tell, etc. Yay! That's the third time that's happened! i got another compliment at work today--a coworker friend told me she didn't recognize me from the back as I stood in someone's office. She was like, "Who on earth is that??" It was me!! Me and my size 12 tushie!

Anyway, I gotta go blowdry my hair and get outta here. Talk soon!

SOOOOOO tired today. It's definitely time for a rest day. I've been working out like crazy since last Thursday:

2/22: 65 minutes treadmill (40 min running, 25 min walking)
2/23: 45 min arc trainer, 30 min stationary bike
2/24: 30 min arc trainer, 45 min treadmill
2/25: 65 min treadmill (can't remember the running/walking ratio)
2/26: 30 min spinning, 15 min run, 15 min walk
2/27: 60 min arc trainer
2/28: 30 min spinning, 15 min run

I need a few good days of rest combined with a few good days of sleep, and I'll be all rested up. I think I'll rest tomorrow too, and Saturday AM, I'll be back in fighting form.

185.0 this morning. Hoping to see 187 at my official weigh in tonight. I was 188.2 last week. And 186.6 at my lowest LAWL weight a few weeks ago.

A friend mentioned something about all my excess skin, and I was wondering about that. I do have a rather large "slab of flab" on my abs. LIke, when I'm doing a pushup, there's this column of fatty skin that just hangs off my abs...you can see the definition in my abs and you can see my ribs, but there's this big fleshy blob hanging off my belly. And I've got similarly droopy, gross skin hanging off my inner thighs, too. What if my body is technically at the correct weight, in general, but I can't lose the last few pounds because it's SKIN?

I know I still have some fat to exchange into muscle, but even if I do that, I'll still probably be in the low-mid 180s. (But I'll probably get my size 10.)

Anyway, don't know. Something to think about.

I'm tired.

Jess that skin does have weight to it.

I'm starting to really wonder if that could be a PART of the culprit! Cuz most people who see me are astonished when I say I still have to lose 15 lbs. They don't see the belly, thigh, and arm skin drooping everywhere and they tell me to not turn into Twiggy! I've definitely got a very good toned body, but I've definitely got flop. (Keep in mind that I was 50 lbs heavier than my start weight at LAWL, so I've technically lost a total of 110 lbs or so.)

I'm hoping that the skin will eventually absorb back into my body. In a way, it already has. But there's still quite a bit of extra. I'd guess 10 lbs, maybe.

Plus, I'm smaller than I was in high school. So maybe I'm "there"? Still, I wanted to see 179 on my scale, at least! And size 10! (I'm still aiming for 10s, especially considering my success at NY&Co last week!)

Hmm.

hey, jess. sounds like you are looking and feeling great, but want to push to that ultimate goal. though you have folks concerned about you getting too skinny, trust yourself. you know where you want to be & what suits your body best. i *do* think you are totally healthy, fit and toned right where you are, though. so wherever you land and feel "home" -- that's where you should stay! ;-)

Ya know, this "Skin Theory" is really working for me right now! I'm liking it!

And you're right about my perception versus the numbers. All along, the counselors were telling me that I might decide to change my goal to 180. If I did that, then I'm not that far away from my goal. Yay! I feel good, and I'd love to drop enough mass to comfortably fit in size 10, but I'm pretty damn happy with 12, gotta say. SO....

I'm just a perfectionist, so it's frustrating to not hit the goal I was so dead-set to achieve.

The good news is that I'm only a few weeks away from stabilization and maintenance. Can't wait to add more food back to my plan! More dairy! More veggies! More fruit! Yay! Cuz even though I say I've not been perfect on my plan, it's not like I'm eating Taco Bell and chips and cookies. I'm having a 35-cal Lite Laughing Cow cheese wedge. I'm having an extra glass of skim milk--THAT THEY KNOW ABOUT. Etc.

Anyway, yeah, I used to be 296 lbs. I got myself down to 240+ on my own, then was on my way back up into the 250s when I started LAWL. Now I'm 188 (according to them, last week). Not bad, huh?

*sigh*

Thanks for the encouragement Karen. You're really making me smile!

I'm definitely enjoying where I am now, and I'm going to make sure I don't forget to smell the roses while I'm here.

:)
