Hello everyone! I'm in the middle of week 3 and I thought I better start one of these journals to keep myself in line. I tried to start one a few weeks ago and I screwed it up somehow so I'm starting over! Here's a little info on me. My name is Mary Rose, age 50. My husband and I are doing this together. We both have hit a 50 age crisis! Him more than myself. Ha! Sleep apnea, HBP, family diabetes, etc. I've had HBP for 23 years and I don't think that will change much. We had a major loss in our life 26 months ago when we lost our 20 year old son. He was in an auto accident and he died from injuries he sustained in that accident. I'd say we started the uncontrollable eating, eating out..I'm sure you know what I mean. SO..here we are. Thank God we're doing this together! It's so much easier. My goal is 54 lbs. and his 80 lbs. A NEW LIFE!
Memorial weekend was very hard on us. I did okay but it was hard! He didn't fair as well. He was the cook at our nephew's graduation party and you can only imagine how that went. He's been a snacker while he cooks from way back. He's definitely paying for it now. We weigh in tonight and he's not thinking it's going to go well. I don't think I've lost my 2 lbs but I don't think I've gained either. We'll see.
I'll be back because I've got a long way to go!!

hi, rosie. whoa, that is pricey formula. but i hope it does the trick to make drew feel better. so sorry he's having reflux. i know his parents have tried every nipple, but i just wanted to throw this out: did they try the avent nipples yet? if drew was breastfed before, they are an easier transition. they worked great for us when i had to pump and have other people to feed ds while i was at work. and i was still able to breastfeed him when we were together. he didn't prefer the bottle over me, but he would take it when i wasn't around. :-) just a thought.
i agree with marg -- you're doing a super job maintaining. and all in the middle of a hectic, full life. that's the stuff of success, rosie. keep up the great work.

Hi Marg!
Good Morning Mel!
Where's the time go....I think it's almost been a week since I posted.
Mary Rose,
First -- hope your Grandson starts doing better soon -- maybe seeing a specialist may help -- poor little guy so little he can not explain what is going on.
Glad Cecil realized it was time to put the brakes on his weight gain -- good to stop it at 15 and not wait till it is more. I got a new food journal that has lots of room to write and a small column to tally up # of food servings dairy, meat etc, it also has a small take along journal too:

Great you are back under 140 -- sure you will be back to where you want to be soon.
Hang in there!

Hi Marg & Mel,
Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement.
Mary Rose,
So glad your Grandson is doing better.
Writing down your food choices will help you -- since sometimes it will make you stop and think if you REALLY NEED that cookie etc or if it is just a WANT.
Good luck to Cecil too -- hope he is able to shed the extra weight without too much difficulty.
