Hello everyone! I'm in the middle of week 3 and I thought I better start one of these journals to keep myself in line. I tried to start one a few weeks ago and I screwed it up somehow so I'm starting over! Here's a little info on me. My name is Mary Rose, age 50. My husband and I are doing this together. We both have hit a 50 age crisis! Him more than myself. Ha! Sleep apnea, HBP, family diabetes, etc. I've had HBP for 23 years and I don't think that will change much. We had a major loss in our life 26 months ago when we lost our 20 year old son. He was in an auto accident and he died from injuries he sustained in that accident. I'd say we started the uncontrollable eating, eating out..I'm sure you know what I mean. SO..here we are. Thank God we're doing this together! It's so much easier. My goal is 54 lbs. and his 80 lbs. A NEW LIFE!
Memorial weekend was very hard on us. I did okay but it was hard! He didn't fair as well. He was the cook at our nephew's graduation party and you can only imagine how that went. He's been a snacker while he cooks from way back. He's definitely paying for it now. We weigh in tonight and he's not thinking it's going to go well. I don't think I've lost my 2 lbs but I don't think I've gained either. We'll see.
I'll be back because I've got a long way to go!!

Hi Rosie,
Glad you had a great weekend and only gained a pound.
Hi Carol!
It's been a week from H__L!
Mary Rose,
Sorry you are having such a rough week -- though it is great that your scale is about the same as last year -- I had to look back in my journal here on the message board to see last year's weight and am about the same -- so 3 years of maintaining -- it is tough at times but does get a bit easier as time goes by.
Hope your visit with the DR went well and that they were able to reduce your meds like you wanted.

sorry about your week, rosie. did things start looking up yet?
you know, it's really terrific you're only 7 lbs over your maintenance start weight. you've done a great job maintaining. :-)

Hi Mel!
Monday morning blues...scales up as usual and really tired of dealing with it.
Mary Rose,
Glad to hear that Cecil did not hurt himself when he fell -- hope the Dr can adjust his meds accordingly.
I hear you on the cookies -- had Several ginger cookies tonight -- only good thing is they are thin -- but still -- ate cookies to unwind.
Are you all ready for the holidays? will you be hosting anything at your house or just going as a guest? We are headed to my parents -- a 5 hour drive -- my DH will be going too he has not visited at my parents home since April of 2003 -- will see my sister, nephew and BIL as well as a cousin, her husband and two sweet kids. We will take Max and Walter --so hopefully they will behave -- Max is now sound asleep with paws in the air -- very funny. Had iced green tea before dinner-- forgot it has caffine -- oops.
Well sounds like the candle lighting ceremony went well even eating well -- I'm sure in January you will be able to drop below 140 if that is what you really want to do -- are you still using your exercise bands?

Mary Rose,
Glad the scale is dropping a bit for you.
Nice that you do not have to worry about hosting Christmas -- sounds like your life is busy and hectic enough.
Off to mail a Christmas package to my cousin -- got all sorts of goodies to send as well as this homemade FruitCake.
