Hi there, I'm new to the board, I"ve always been at a good weight, till about 2 1/2 yeas ago when I quit smoking, now at 33 I weight 155 lbs and I hate it. YOu know the thing that really gets me is that i quit smoking but I can't lose the weight I need/want to. So what did you do too lose the weight, are you always hungry? Please someone give me some tips here.

Thanks,
Corinna

Hi Corinna & welcome to the board! The two important components in successful weight loss is to eat less and exercise more. Your diet should contain lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and as little fat as possible. Also watch your sugar intake, especially in the sneaky places where it shows up. Drink lots of water; it will help you feel full. You'll have to treat yourself once in a while to your favorite "junk", otherwise you'll crave it and overeat. Get moving! Exercise burns calories and helps the scale drop. Go for a walk or ride a bike. Anything to get those muscles moving.

I'm sure others will have other ideas to share. Good luck & keep us posted on your success!

I ate salads with meat during lunchtime and worked out at the gym in the evenings to lose weight.

I have a lot of friends that smoke. Cigarettes suppress your appetite. That's why a lot of x-smokers gain weight. Instead of reaching for a cigarette my friends would go for a snack that wasn't always very wealthy.

good luck!
