Can I get out of this :(

Hi:

I feel awful! my body feels awful...I don't feel healthy :( I am now ready to lose this weight. BUT I have no motivation...where do i start...what excersise do i start with? Walking? does it really do anyhing? And are there a few tips to do like drinking more water ??...this is all overwhelming...

My story: Before I was preg i weighed 178....When I got preg I carried like my mom, the preg was wonderful and easy even though I have an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism)...I lost weight during the pregnancy , (10) lbs in the first trimester and I was not sick and ate very good, all was healthy that's just the way we in my family carry babies. After I had my daughter I weighed 160...all was great! THEN a few months post partum, I gained 25lbs and some more since then and now I weigh 195! I'm misserable!

I am 34, 5.6tall and 195lbs and I need to lose at least35 lbs

I have to do this for me....I'm miserable!
thanks for listening

Tawnie,
First and foremost have your thyroid checked. I have hypothyroidism also and my synthroid needed to be increased following the births of my children. I understand this is a very common postpartum proplem for people with thyroid issues.
I highly recommend starting with walking. It's free, you can do it anytime, anywhere. However, if you find it difficult to walk with your daughter and you don't have someone to help with her so you can get away for consistent exercise, find something that you can do without interruption(or as little interruption as possible). I say this because walking worked for me, but I have friends where they needed to go to the gym where there was child care so they could concentrate on their health for 1 hour without interruption and they knew they could count on that in a consistent manner (not crossing their fingers hoping their child didn't wake up in the middle of their Pilates video:)
You can do it!

thanks for the input....

I did have my thyroid checked 3 postpartum it was fine then I had it checked again when DD was 3.5mths old because I was gaining weight fast! and it was way off. It has been fine since then. But i already gained most of the wieght. Well I did start excerising today (saturday)and Ifelt a lot better after.....so i plan to stick with it and walk as the main excersise now. DD is almost 2yr...she likes the jogging stoller luckly.
